On Golden Wedding Date

Former Georgians, Mr. and
Mr* Sam Goldstein, residents of
south Florida since 1925, 'will be
honored on Saturday, Nov. 25, at
• cocktail buffet at the Westview
Country Club in celebration of
their Golden Wedding Anniver-
■ary.

ami Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Charles

several yean in Atlanta, moved
to Florida. They returned briefly
to Atlanta and have been in Mi
ami Beach since 1945.
Mr. Goldstein, a founder and
honorary chairman of the board
of Sanitary Linen Service Co., is
very active in community affairs.
He is a founder end trustee of
Mt. Sinai Hospital, past president
of Temple Israel, vice chairman
of the personnel board of the
City of Miami Beach, a member
of the Kiwanis Club, Standard
Club and Westview Country
Club.
Mrs. Goldstein is a life mem
ber of the Women’s Committee
of Brandeds University, a god
mother of Mt Sinai Hospital
Auxiliary and of Douglas Gar
dens. She is a member of Na
tional Council of Jewish Women,
Temple Israel Sisterhood, the
women’s committee of Jewish
Family and Children’s Service,
Hadassah and numerous other
civic end cultural organizations.

paign of the Central Board on
Care of Jewish Aged to provide
new facilities required tor resi
dents of the Jewish Home.
Officials of the Home and con
gregations hailed the joint co
operation as a “first” of this na
ture in communal history.
Plans call tor Ahavath Achim,

Temple Congregations holding
simultaneous functions on De
cember 5 to support the campaign
for greatly needed new facilities
of the Jewish Home, replacing
current structures which served
well in their time but which can
no longer meet present and an
ticipated requirements.
The simultaneous functions will
bring together membership total
ing close to four thousand fam
ilies. A wholesale response to the
functions could easily push the
campaign to the goal.
The officers and members of
Anshi S’fard, because of limited
physical space have been invited
by Beth Jacob to participate in
its function.

Krick, the chairman of the con
gregation’s committee indicated
that the dinner will be preceded
by a cocktail hour. Rabbi Syd
ney K. Mossman will present the
religious importance of the com
munity’s efforts in behalf of the
aged. Meyer L. Balser will give
the details of the progress of the
campaign and the expectations
of the leadership of. the copunun-

free phone calls to Viet Nam
during the holiday season.
Mr. Libowsky’s project has
been approved by the Georgia
Jaycees and is being offered by
other chapters in the state as
well.

The City of Hope Awards
Banquet planned by the Atlanta
City of Hope Auxiliary will be
held at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec.
2, at the Regency-Hyatt House.
Mrs. Victor Kramer, president,
announced that Ben Hyman will
be this year’s recipient of the
Torch of Hope Award. Proceeds
will be allocated to the City of
Hope, a free, non-sectarian pilot
medical center in Duarte, Cal.,
to further the research and
treatment of major diseases.
Johnny Desmond, one of the
entertainment world’s most ver
satile and talented performers,
will be the guest entertainer.
Desmond, who first appeared
as featured vocalist with Glenn
Miller’s Air Force Band, has
