Mrs. Jacob Samuel Harris of
Birmingham, announces the en
gagement of her daughter, Sus
an Mitchell Harris, to Joseph
Benjamin Shapiro Jr., son of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Benjamin
Shapiro of Atlanta.
The bride-elect is the daugh
ter of the late Mr. Harris and
the granddaughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Harris of
Jackson, Tenn., and the late Mr.
and Mrs. Solomon Grossman of
Nashville-
Miss Harris was graduated
from the University of Alabama,
where she attended graduate
school in psychology. She was a
varsity cheerleader, an officer of
Sigma Delta Tau, a member of
Mortar Board, and was elected
to the collegiate Who’s Who. The
future bride is employed as a
clinic counselor at the Georgian
Clinic in Atlanta.
Mr. Shapiro is the grandson
of Mrs. Paul Shapiro of Midville
and the late Mr. Shapiro and
the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Schneider of Augusta.
The future bridegroom was
graduated from Emory Univers
ity, where he was a member of
Alpha Epsilon Pi, ODK, and
served as president of the Col

Fishman-Rabin
AUGUSTA — Miss Florence
Leah Fishman became the bride
of Albert Nathan Rabin of Sa
vannah at 6 p. m. September 8
at Adas Yeshurun Synagogue.
Rabbi Abraham I. Rosenberg
of Savannah officiated. The
Rev. H. Roth assisted. Music
was presented by Mrs. William
Pomerance, organist.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Fishman.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel Rabin of Savan
nah.
Archie Rabhan was best man.
Ushers were Dr. Samuel Good
rich; Jay Sawilosky; Jack Fish
man and Steven Fishman, bro
thers of the bride; Steve Gill-
man of Coral Gables, Fla., and
Jay Rabhan of Savannah.
Miss Judy Fishman was her
sister’s maid of honor. Brides
maids were Miss Sherry Gins-
burg of Portland, Me.; Miss
Lynn Rabhan of Atlanta; Miss
Marilyn Rabhan of Savannah;
Miss Jacque Gillman of Coral
Gables, Fla.; and Miss Eileen
Weisberg of Brooklyn, N. Y.
Flower girl was Miss Risa
Daitch.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her parents.
A reception followed at the
Synagogue Social Hall.
Following a wedding trip to
the Bahamas, the couple will
live in Chapel Hill, N. C.
Goldman—Rothberg
Dr. and Mrs. Allan Goldman
of New Orleans, announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Louise Elaine Goldman, to Ed
win Saul Rothberg, son of Mrs.
Irving Rothberg, of Atlanta, and
the late Mr. Rothberg.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of Mrs- Julius Gold
man of New Orleans and the
late Mr. Goldman, and Mrs. Bert
Solomon of Helena, Ark., and
the late Mr. Solomon.
Miss Goldman was graduated
from Newcomb College of Tu-
lane University, where she was
a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi
and was elected to the collegiate
Who’s Who.
Mr. Rothberg was graduated
from Tulane University, where
he served as president of Sigma
Alpha Mu.
The future bridegroom is the
grandson of Mrs. Samuel Roth
berg of New York City and the
late Mr. Rothberg and Robert
Abramson of Washington, S.C.,
and the late Mrs. Abramson-

Goldberg-Kalikow
SAVANNAH— Mr. and Mrs.
Leon Goldberg announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Eileen, to Martin Kalikow, son
of Mr. and Mrs. “Sidney Kalikow
of Roslyn Heights, N. Y.
Miss Goldberg is a senior at
the University of Massachusetts.
Her fiance, a graduate of the
University of Massachusetts, at
tends law school at Boston Uni
versity.
A June wedding is planned.
Silverboard—Katz
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Silver-
board of Atlanta announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Sandra Lynn Silverboard, to Roy
Michael Katz, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Warren Katz of North
Miami Beach.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max
Pamarance of Atlanta and the
late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Silver-
board.
Miss Silverboard attended the
University of Georgia where she
was a member of Delta Phi
Epsilon Sorority and now at
tends Georgia State College and
will receive her Bachelor of
Science degree in Special Edu
cation in December.
The future bridegroom is the
grandson of Mrs- Jacob Levis
and the late Mr. Levis and the
late Mr. and Mrs. Max Katz.
Mr. Katz graduated from
Miami Dade Junior College and
will receive his BEA Degree
from the University of Georgia
in December. He is presently
erriployed by Jordan Marsh De
partment Store in Miami.
The wedding will be held on
January 5, at the Ahavath Achim
Synagogue in Atlanta.

She received her Medical Office
Assistant degree from DeKalb
Area Technical School and is
now employed in Atlanta.
Capt. LeRoy graduated from
Ballard High School in Seattle
and received his BA degree in
Industrial Design from the Uni
versity of Washington. Since
returning from Viet Nam where
he was a helicopter gunship pilot
he has been stationed at Hunter
AAB in Savannah where he is
the Assistant Range Support
Branch Commander.
