The new project of B’nal B’rith Women of At
lanta alms to promote better pre-natal care for
Atlanta’s indigent mothers-to-be. Some 500 baby
layettes are being collected by the BBW for gifts
to mothers who participate. The National Foun
dation-March of Dimes is co-sponsor. Mrs. Cohen
and Mrs. Rabinowitz are Operation Stork co-
chairmen; Mrs. Friedland is BBW president.

Honor Sukkot
A combined study group and
cooking class will be held in
honor of Sukkot October 10,
at the home of Mrs. Larry
Klinger (Myrna), 1653 Anita
Place, N.E.
Rabbi David Radinsky of the
Beth Jacob Synagogue will talk
about the Sukkot Holiday in the
Sukka at Mrs- Klinger’s home.
Mrs. Evelyn Levitt, cooking
class chairman, will demonstrate
a traditional holiday dish. All
members and their guests are
asked to attend.

campaign for 1968-69 with the
first of a series of initiating din
ners held recently for the board
of directors. Rabbi Emanuel Feld
man was the speaker. The second
dinner will be held on October 10
for the kindergarten parents. Rab
bi Nissim Wemick will address
the group.
Dr. Alvin P. Siegel, Atlanta
dental surgeon, has been named
chairman of the campaign. Dr.
Siegel attended Emory University
and the University of Pittsburgh
Dental School- He is a member
of Alpha Omega Dental Fratern
ity. The chairman and Mrs. Siegel
are the parents of three children.
Their eldest, Robin, is in the
second grade at the Academy.
The following division chair
men have been named: William
Gris, fund-raising dinners; Ed
ward Krick, big gifts; Paul Miller,
general solicitation; Dr. Albert
Berger, dentists; Mrs. Irving
Greenberg, physicians; Clifford
Martin, accountants; Barry Karp,
attorneys; Howard Gladstein,
salesmen and Mrs. David Eisen-
berg, telethon.
These winsome youngsters lend a hand with the membership
drive currently underway by the Hebrew Academy. Carol Eisen-
berg mans the telephone in a practice session while Lisa Karp
checks the telephone directory.

Red Cross Reopens
Knitting Room
Reopening otf the Red Cross
knitting room has been announc
ed by Mrs. Heirman Haas and
Mrs. John Dinos, chairmen.
They said the knitting project
is off to an early start this year
due to increased needs for
sweaters, beanies, lap robes,
spiral and walking oast socks for
patients in military and VA hos
pitals.
Volunteers who can knit and
crochet are asked to visit the
knitting room at Red Cross head
quarters, 848 Peachtree, N. E.

a. m. and 2:00 p. m.
Temple Sisterhood
Eye ‘Blind’ Project
The Temple Sisterhood will
have as its theme at the Oc
tober 8 meeting “Service to the
Blind.”
R. Wayne Edwards, executive
director of the Community Serv
ices for the Blind, and a blind
student from Oglethorpe Univer
sity will participate in the pro
gram.
A gourmet luncheon prepared
by members will be served.
Guests and friends are invited.
The meeting will take plaoe in
the Temple Friendship Hall on
October 8, at 12:20 p. m.

Of Councilettes
The National Council of Jew
ish Women, Atlanta Section, has
launched a new program for
girls in the eighth and ninth
grades, known as Councilettes.
Miss Tina Rothstein is serving
as the advisor to this group of
girls who will engage in a num
ber of social service projects
such as helping at the Council
Thrift Shop, working with un
derprivileged children, and en
tertaining sick children.
Miss Rothstein is an outstand
ing young woman who is from
Raleigh, North Carolina. She
graduated from North Carolina
State University and is now with
the Coca Cola Company as a
Systems and Procedure Analyst.
She has lived in Atlanta for two
years. Having been active in
many youth groups, Tina is
eager to work with these young
teen agers for the betterment
of the community.
The next Councilette meeting
will be held on Sunday, Oct- 6,
at 3:30 p.m. at the home of Julie
Coleman, 630 Edgewater Trail,
N.W. Those interested in this

B’nai Mitzva
