Will Feature
Dialogue Review
A “dialogue” review of a new
novel by a modern Israeli nov
elist will be featured at the last
evening of the book review series
of the Adult Institute on Wed
nesday, Dec. 18, at the AJCC.
Mrs. Eleanor Finley, a book
reviewer for the Sunday Atlanta
Journal Constitution, and Mrs.
Max C. Gettinger, will use “dia
logue style” in reviewing "Not of
This Time, Not of This Place” by
Yehuda Amichai. Mr. Amiehai a
controversial figure in his own
country, is considered one of its
great poets and a spokesman for
modernism as well as a hero of
Israel’s intellectual angry young
men. The book belies many fam
iliar cliches about Israeli and
Jewish writers.
Mrs. Finley is a member of the
Cathedral of St. Philip and as a
layman of her church, her chief
concern is with social action.
Dr. Joseph Glazer, chairman of
the book review series, sponsor-,
ed by the Bureau of Jewish Ed
ucation, said members are in
vited to bring guests to this final
evening in the series. A coffee
and social hour will follow.
