“SLIDE” TOUR
CITY OF HOPE

An “all-expense-paid” tour of
the City of Hope (via slides) will
be one feature of the member
ship meeting on Monday, Mar. 10,
at 12 noon, at the home of Shir
ley Kramer at 1085 Dunwoody
Trail, N. E.
A delicious buffet luncheon
will be served during the “tour”
of the medical center, located in
the foothills of the San Gabriel
Mountains in California. The
price of admission will be a pros
pective City of Hope member, or
a new member, Mrs. Leon J.
Levine, Atlanta Auxiliary presi
dent, announced.
Reservations must be in by
Thursday, March 6, and may be
made by phoning Sylvia Kaye at
034-0565, Elaine Hanner at 633-

—FILM, BINGO
The Sisterhood of Congregation
Beth Jacob will meet March ~5 at
1:15 p. m., in Shapiro Auditor
ium.
A film entitled “Never Again
to be Denied” will be shown,
after which the Sisterhood mem
bers will play “Purim Bingo.”
Coffee and hamantashen will be
served. There will be a charge of
50 cents. In charge of reserva
tions are Mrs. Bennett Ginburg,

Bat Ami Hadassah
Study Group
Rabbi David Radinsky will be
the speaker at the study group
of Bat Ami Hadassah on Sun
day, Mar. 9, 3 p. m., at the home
of Mrs. Joseph (Margo) Sommers,
1379 W. Wesley Road, N. W.
Rabbi Radinsky is assistant
rabbi and educational director of
Congregation Beth Jacob. His
topic will be “Origin and De
velopment of Jewish Festival
Music” with particular emphasis
on Passover melodies. This is in
celebration of Jewish Music
Month.
Chairman for the day will be
Mrs. Clarence Liberman. Re
freshments will be served by the
hostesses. Misses Pearl and Rosa
Goldstein, assisted by the co
hostesses, Mrs. Liberman and
Mrs. Sommers. Members and

At A A Forum
A subject of vital and timely
interest will be the focus of dis
cussion this coming Sunday, Mar.
2, when Dr. Michael H. Mescon,
professor of Human Relations and
chairman of the department of
management in the School of
.Business Administration at Geor
gia State College, addresses the
A.A. Study group on the subject
of “Academic Freedom and Aca
demic Responsibility.” The group
meets weekly at the synagogue
at 11:00 a. m.
Dr. Mescon holds the unusual
distinction of occupying the chair
of “Private Enterprise” at the
college. His undergraduate and
masters degrees are from the
University of Miami; his Ph.D.
is from New York University. He
is the author of approximately
fifty articles and co-author of
the book “Organization and En
terprise.” His article “Motivation
and the Manager” was selected
best article of the year in 1963
by the Training Directors Jour
nal in the category “Training
Theory and Research.” In 1963 he
was also named “Outstanding
Young Man of the Year in Edu
cation” by the Atlanta Junior
Chamber of Commerce. In 1964
he received an American Eco
nomic Foundation Award and in
1968 the Chair of Private Enter
prise was selected to receive the
George Washington Honor Medal
Award from the Freedom Foun
dation at Valley Forge.
Dr. Mescon has served in-con
sulting, training and lecturing ca
pacities for over sixty organiza
tions representing business, in
dustry and governmental activ
ities.

thor of a new book reflecting the
drama of behind-the-scenes
.events of the Six Day War in
Israel, will review his book, The
28th of lyar at the Brandeis Uni
versity National Women’s Com
mittee 1969 Annual Book Fund
Event.-The meeting will be held
March 11 at 1:30 p. m., at the

Rabbi Feldman, spiritual leader
of Beth Jacob Synagogue since
1952, was a guest lecturer at Bar-
Ilan University in Israel during
the period which embraced th&
Six Day War. The hook, cast in
the form of a dairy, focuses on
those who were on the insido
looking out, and how they re
acted to the incredible events—
with fear, with agony, joy, des
pair, laughter, and triumph.
All Brandeis members who
have made a contribution to the
Brandeis Book Fund in support
of the University’s libraries from
