The lovely facilities were
donated by Mr. and Mrs. Har
rison in the memory of Jacob
and Fannie Harrison, his par
ents.
Mr. Harrison, a long-time res
ident of Atlanta now making
his home in Miami, has for dec
ades been a noted philanthropist,
especially in affairs of the Jew
ish War Veterans. He helped
create as national president the
JWV Historical Shrine in Wash
ington. He was for many years
on the board of directors of The
Southern Lsraelite.
The Harrisons have also
donated an ambulance to the
Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel
Aviv, Israel, in honor of their
fiftieth wedding anniversary
which will be celebrated on Au
gust 10 of this year.

Israel Film at
Symphony Hall
A documentary short, entitled
“Speaking of Israel,” highlight
ing the social, economic and cul
tural growth of the country, and
a full length feature “My Love
in Jerusalem,” will be entered in
competition during the Second
Annual Atlanta Film Festival,
which will be held here the
week of June 16 through 2\.
The festival, which is being
produced in cooperation with the
City of Atlanta, Eastern Air
Lines, Mini-Cinemas Internation
al and the Regency-Hyatt House,
is featuring “Israel Night” as a
special salute to the young Is
raeli film industry on Wednesday
evening, June 18, at 8:30 p. in. in
Symphony Hall of the Memorial
Arts Center. The showing will be
preceded by a diplomatic recep
tion in the Galleria at 7:30 p. m.,
at which government officials,
producers, directors and other
distinguished visitors will be pre
sent.
The event is under joint spon
sorship of the Atlanta Zionist
District and the Atlanta Jewish
Community Center. Dr. Herbert
Karp, president of the District,
and Amnon Engelberg, youth ac
tivities director at the AJCC,
head the committee on arrange
ments. Admission will be $3.00
per person and tickets may be
obtained by phoning the Zionist
District office at 523-1564, the
Israel Government Tourist Office
at 873-1479 and the Atlanta Jew
ish Community Center at 875-
7881.

Larry Frank To Chair Annual
Israel Bond Dinner Drive
Larry Frank has been named
Dinner Chairman for the Annual
Dinner launching the 1969 Israel
Bond Campaign. This was an
nounced by Honorary Chairman
Isidore Alterman, who stated
that special emphasis will be
placed on this year’s Israel Bond
Campaign as the major source
of investment funds to maintain
the pace of Israel’s development
and strengthen its economy at a
time when an unprecedented
proportion of the country’s fiscal
resources must be allocated to
cope with heightened tensions in
the area.
Mr. Frank, a graduate of
Vanderbilt University and presi
dent of Olympic Manufacturing
Company, has a vital interest in
Jewish communal life. He
serves on the Board of the At
lanta Jewish Welfare Federation,
Atlanta Jewish Community Cen
ter, Hebrew Academy and Jew
ish Children’s Service. He is a
vice president of the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center, a
mmber of the Atlanta ZOA
Planning Committee, B’nai
B’rith, and serves on the Plan
ning Committee of Camp Judea,
as well as Board member of the
Joint Distribution Committee.
He is also an active member of
the UJA Campaign Cabinet.

He stated, “Every Jew must feel
this burden that exists in Israel
today and come to her aid by
supporting her basic right to live
in peace. The role that Israel
Bonds play in this support is
monumental and deserves, more
than ever, our complete sup
port.”

p. m. Thursday, June 12, at the

Ground Breaking June 8
For New Jewish Home
Sunday, June 8, at 5:00 p. m. Is the new date set tor ground
breaking ceremonies of the new Jewish Home. Previously set
plans were washed out on May 18 by heavy rains causing ex
treme mud conditions.
Mayor Ivan Allen Jr. will be the guest of honor at the
ceremony with blessings to be offered by Rabbi Jacob Roths
child and Rabbi Harry H. Epstein.
M. William Breman, president of the Central Board, and
Elliott L. Haas, chairman of the Groundbreaking Committee,
stressed that the general community is invited to attend the
happy occasion at 3150 Howell Mill Rd., N. W., corner of
Margaret Mitchell Dr.
Others taking part in the program will include Joseph
Cuba, vice president and chairman of the building and planning
committee; Dan Garson, chairman of the campaign cabinet and
Abe Goldstein, president of the Atlanta Jewish Welfare Fed
