For June 19-26 Parley
Three hundred thirty -five
members, representing one hun
dred thirty chapters in District 5,
of the Aleph Zadik Aleph and
B’nai B’rith Girls, junior order of
the B’nai B’rith, will leave com
munities from the Miami area all
the way to the top of the District,
in Baltimore, for their annual
District convention June 19-26.

The contingents will be accom
panied by trained, qualified, vol
unteer advisors who will remain
at convention throughout to assist
the professional staff in supervis
ing the convention programs.
District AZA president Craig
Aronoff and BBG president Patti
Bock will direct the youth lead
ership to examine in depth the
, convention theme “I Gotta Be
Me.” Self-exploration is intended
to help the conventioneer deter
mine who he is, why he acts the
way he does, how he affects those
about him, and what he can do to
improve himself as an individual,
as a member of his organization,
the B’nai B’rith Youth Organiza
tion, and as part of his commun
ity.
Principal key-noter on the
convention theme will be Dan
Grodofsky, assistant director of
the National Jewish Welfare
Board of New York City.
Barbara Levin and Ronnie
Meier are *>ordinators for the
convention, rcarrying major ad
ministrative responsibilities.
Traditional table songs and
creative services and prayers;
Life Membership honors will be
awarded to outstanding leaders
who have worked for their chap
ters; contestants who won at
Council and Regional run-offs in
oratory, story-telling, debate,
scrap-book, newspaper, original
art work, Israeli dancing, song
writing and outstanding chapter
nominations will be judged at the
District convention. Many of the
finalists will go on to the Inter
national BBYO convention, to
compete with winners from other
districts and countries.
