Volpin-Odess
SAVANNAH — The marriage
of Miss Judith Ann Volpin,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Volpin, to Alan Odess, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Odess of
Bronx, N. Y., took place July 30
in the Parkside Plaza, Bronx.
Rabbi Avigdor Cyperstein of
Yeshiva University officiated.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her parents. Mrs.
Larry Odess of Ramat Gan,
Israel, was matron of honor and
bridesmaids were Miss Rena
Rosenberg of Savannah, Mrs.
Kenneth A. Greene, Binghamton,
N. Y., and Miss Sara Yudin, New
York City. Miss Jocelyn Faye
Gordon of Brookline, Mass., was
junior bridesmaid and liana
Odess of Ramat Gan, Israel, was
flower girl.
Lawrence Odess of Ramat Gan
was best man and ushers were
Seymour Sidler, Bronx, Gerold
LevoiUz also of Bronx, and
Frederick Gorsetman, N.Y., N Y.
Avi Odess and Mitchell Odess,
both of Ramat Gan, Israel,, were
junior ushers.
Mr. and Mrs. Odess will make
their home at 1474 W. Terrace
Circle, Teaneck, N. J.

Fox-Berman
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Fox of
Asheville, N. C., announce the en
gagement of their daughter, Ju
dith Irene Fox, to Irwin Elliott
Berman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abe
Berman of Atlanta.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of Mrs. Sara Schandler
of Asheville and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Abraham Fox of Brooklyn.
Miss Fox is employed, by the
Department of Health. Education
and Welfare in Atlanta.
The futurfe bridegroom is the
grandson of Mr. and Mrs. B. C.
Glass and the late Mr. and Mrs.
Israel Berman, all of Atlanta.
Mr. Berman will receive his
B.B.A. degree in Marketing from
Georgia State College in June,
and is employed by Ellman’s of
Atlanta.
The wedding will take place
January 25 at Beth Israel Syna
gogue in Asheville.
SAVANNAH—Miss Harriet Rae
Schantz, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Seymour Schantz, became
the bride of Alan Jav Greenspan,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Marty Green
span of Miami, on August 24.
Rabbi Sidney Solomon perform
ed the ceremony at Agudath
Achim Synagogue.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, had Miss Ricky
Greenspan, sister of the bride
groom as her attendant.
Gary Teller was best man and
ushers included Elliot Schantz,
of Hopelawn, N. J., brother of
the bride, Gerald Schantz, Robert
Teller and Karl Brimmer of
Hinesville.
A reception was given in the
synagogue social hall.
After a wedding trip to Florida,
the couple will live in Great
Lakes, Ill., where he is stationed
in the U. S. Navy.
Kramer-Richardson
SAVANNAH — Mr. and Mrs.
George Kramer announce the en
gagement of their daughter,
Carla Rae, to Willis Jenkins Ri
chardson III, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Richardson Jr.
Miss Kramer, a graduate of
Savannah High School, attended
Armstrong State College and is a
psychiatric assistant for Dr.
Herbert D. Smith.
She is the granddaughter of
Mrs. Ida Levy of Detroit, and the
late Harry Levy and of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Issac
Kramer.
A graduate of Savannah High
School, Mr. Richardson attended
the University of Georgia and is
now a student at Armstrong
State College.
He is the grandson of Mr. and
Mrs. F. A. Durden and of Mrs.
Douglas L. Head of Zebulon and
the late Dr. Head.
Smith-Pomerance
Miss Barbara Gail Smith,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benja
min Smith, became the bride of
Leon Pomerance, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Pomertance of Miami
on August 24. Rabbi Abraham I.
Rosenberg performed the noon
ceremony at B’nai B’rith Jacob
Synagogue.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her parents, Miss Sherry
Segerman of Jacksonville, N. C.,
was maid of honor and brides
maids included Miss Carol
Goodman, Miss Rosalyn Slesnick
and Miss Judy Hirsch of Atlanta,
Miss Susan Mooney of Jesup and
Miss Jill Vandroff of Miami. Miss
Colleen Foskey of Vidalia was
junior bridesmaid and Paula
Chiak of Ocala, Fla., was the
flower girl.
Dr. Ronald Chak of Ocala
served as best man and ushers
were Richard Smith and Ronald
Seitz of Atlanta, Michael Cohen
of Philadelphia, Alan Miarcus of
Ocala and Peter Kosley of Dallas.
