Two Collegiates in College
At Same Time Tests Budgets
Patty Slotin.
Craig E. Aronoff. son of Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin C. Aronoff, will
be a freshmian in the School of
Journalism, Northwestern Univer
sity, Evanston, Ill.
One youngster off to school is
y o u-know-who’s-a-plenty. But
two! And with the high cost of
education' There may be some
families with more. But these as
yet have not come to our atten
tion.
Fortunately, the situation is
helped by bank loans, scholar
ships, summer jobs, austerity, at
tending the state universities and
colleges which quite obviously,
while lacking the glamour of far
away places, are much, much less
expensive and hence within the
grasp of nearly everybody.
These are moments when par
ents are glad the extras of fra
ternity and sorority life do not
rear their budget-stripping heads,
since some colleges—a very, very
few, regrettably — do not have
these secret organizations. And
at some others, not all the boys
or girls could join due to chapter
limitations and personal prefer
ences.
But there remain many boys
and girls who need the emphasis
on social life and who will be
seriously affected by the snob
bishness of exclusion.
Returning to classes will be the
two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Eli
Fahn. Teddy, who has completed
his junior year study in Copen
hagen, will be a senior at Johns
Hopkins University in Baltimore.
He is on the dean’s list. Jay is
specializing in history at Wil
liams College, Williamstown,
Mass.

time collegiates. Son Stan will
be a first year medical student at

versity at Providence, R. I.
Dr. and Mrs. Joe Glazer are
preparing to send daughter
Sarah off to her fourth year at
Radcliff, while son Sam will

bia.

are both enrolled for the fresh
man year lat the University of
Georgia.

gia, while Gloria is a freshman

lanta youngsters off to the Uni
