Beth Jacob Hebrew
School’s Remedial Program
The Beth Jacob Hebrew School on August 28 completed a
successful month of Hebrew remedial classes for 26 of its students
who needed extra help.
This is the first time in the history of the school that an entire
summer month, the month of August, was devoted to remedial in
struction. Because of this instruction, eighty per cent of the students
who would have otherwise been left back were promoted.
Rabbi David J. Radinsky, educational director and Assistant
Rabbi at Congregation Beth Jacob, feels that this program represents
a regular program of etiher remedial instruction for poor students
during the summer.
“It is quite possible now,” says Rabbi Radinsky, “to institute
a regular program of either remedial instruction for poor students
or enrichment instruction for better students during the summer
months. This instruction should help to raise the level and intensity
of Jewish education in our school.”
