Feldman Chosen by GSA
As Alumnus of Year
A. L. Feldman of Atlanta has
been named Alumnus of the
Year at the recent Homecoming
Dinner of Georgia State Uni
versity. Mr. Feldman was also
elected to membership in Omi-
cron Delta Kappa national hon
orary leadership fraternity at
Georgia State.
Mr. Feldman is acknowledged
to be the oldest living participat
ing member of Georgia State.
His name heads the Alumni As
sociation list, classs of 1915. It
was then known as the Geor
gia Tech School of Commerce,
founded in 1913.
A native of Hartwell, Ga., Mr.
Feldman is chairman of the
board of Puritan Chemical Co.
He was the first education com-

mittee chairman of the Georgia
State Chamber of Commerce,
founder of the Teacher Recog
nition Program, chairman of the
Georgia Teacher Scholarship

He served as co-chairman of
the Southern Conference on
Quality Education, chairman of
the Governor’s Conference on
Education, and is a member of
the Georgia Nuclear Advisory
Commission.
In addition, he has served as
a board member of the commun
ity chest and as president of the
Federation of Jewish Social
Service, and co-chairman of one
of the Community Chest fund
campaigns.
Mr. Feldman also serves on
the Board of Georgia State Col
lege Foundation and is a mem
ber of its Advisory Council; a
member of the Advisory Com
mittee of the Atlanta-Fulton
County Vocational Schools; a
trustee of Miles College in Bir
mingham and is a member of
the United States Chamber Ad
visory Panel on Manpower
Training.
A winner of the B’nai B’rith
Man of the Year award, Mr.
Feldman has also been cited by
the Georgia Education Assn, and
the Georgia Teachers Education
Assn, and has received an hon
orary degree from John Marshall
University. In addition to his re
cent election to Omicron Delta
Kappa, he has been elected to
honorary membership in Kappa
Pi Kappa, Alpha Kappa Si and
Alpha Epsilon Pi.
His only hobby, he insists, is
better education.

Affairs Chairman of the Atlanta
Chapter of Hadassah, said, “As
Arab propaganda grows on the
college campuses, our students
need to havfi the knowledge to
combat these attacks upon Israel.
The report is offered to those
students who wish better to
counter these >dverse effects on
their college classmates.”
