WHATS
COOKING

Ten-Minute
Summer Dinner
Summer time is the time for
quick recipes. When it’s hot out
side, nobody likes to spend long
hours near the kitchen stove.
When planning your dinner, it
is wise to start with quick-cook
ing ingredients. The white meat
of chicken breast is ready in
about ten minutes, so we are
using it. We also use dehydrated
soup which will add to the
flavoring and the main dish is
almost ready. If you serve pre
cooked rice aod salad with your
quick main dish and end the
“10 Minute Summer Dinner”
with fruit, you can leave the
cooking and go swimming.
Two tbls. flour
Three whole chicken breasts
One pkg. dehydrated soup
(onion or mushroom)
Two tsp. salt
One-quarter parve margarine
One-quarter cup red wine
1. Cut the breasts into quar
ters. x
2. Mix the flour with the salt.
3. Dip the meat in the flour
to cover all over.
4. Heat the margarine in a
skillet. Fry the meat gently in
It
5. Add water to the contents
of the dehydrated soup. Use
only two-thirds of the amount
of water recommended. Add the
mixture to the skillet. Stir, lower
the heat and cover.
0. Add the wine and continue
cooking covered for 10 minutes.
7. In the meantime prepare
ealad and pre-cooked rice.

the time as a sequella of civic
responsibility during time of
his nation's emergency.
Post 112 also maintains almost
a year-round program of morale
boosting for individuals who are
serving overseas, whatever the
circumstances. This is a dimen
sion of the scope of the organi
zation.
In the main there will be an
absence of hoop-de-la in Atlanta
this August in comparison with
1951. Then a hearty parade was
mounted with spectacular
marching units, bands and ban
ners and Rags a-flying.
The parade, as with other vet
erans groups, has been skipped
of late years and none is planned
for Atlanta. World War n vet
erans are at an age when a five
or six-mile parade is more like
• a hike than a thing of joy. Most
of them detested parades when
they saw active duty anyway.
The organization to a certain
extent came into being as a
counter move to the defamation
of Jewish character which went
the subterranean rounds of hate
in 1895.
Necessity to maintain this di
mension persisted for the next
five or six decades. But some
how as the organization pre
pares to go forward into the
1970’s and is beginning its Dia
mond Jubilee Year there does
not seem to be the same im

They occupy a valued place
in the Jewish schema.
They feel so secure in fact of
this place that almost alone
among Jewish organizations they
have not been ashamed to stand
up and express loyalty to the
United States. They have re
fused to join the mobs of pseudo
intellectuals who have ganged
up on flag and country to the
point that disloyalty is counte
nanced in the name of dissent.
