Young Judaeans
Elect Reisman
As President
Keith Reisman, son of Dr.
and Mrs. Edward D. Reisman,
was recently elected to the
presidency of the Southern Re
gion Young Judaea, Hashachar,
the Zionist Youth movement
sponsored by Hadassah, at their
annual convention held at Camp
Judaea, in Hendersonville.
Keith, entering the joint en
rollment program at Georgia
Tech this September, is present
ly a student at Westminster
Schools. His extra curricular
activities this past year have in
cluded serving as chairman of
the ad hoc committee of At
lanta Youth for Soviet Jewry,

nah Chapter of Mizrachi Wom
en’s Organization met on June
27 at the home of Mrs. Sidney
Rosensweig with Mrs. Samuel
Rabin presiding.
Mrs. Abraham I. Rosenberg
gave the opening prayer. Mrs.
Edith Breen reported on Mizra
chi activities.
Moses Maimonides’ “Eight De
grees of Charity” was read by
program chairman Mrs. Libby
Levine. Mrs. Levine also led a
group in Hebrew songs. Piano
selections were presented by
Mrs. Eva Thompson.

berger, is spending the summer
in Rome, Italy, with the Studies
Abroad Group of the Univer
sity of Georgia’s Classics Pro
gram. Susan, a dean’s list stu
dent, has just completed her
sophomore year at UGa.
Michael Teplitsky, youth di
rector of Adas Yeshurun Syn
agogue, is accompanying a group
of teen membt^s of the syn
agogue on a seven-week edu
cational trip to Paris and Israel.
Those making the trip include
Sam Arazie, Martin Bogoslaw-
sky, Judy Fishman, Debbie
Seidenberg and Stephen Sawil-
owsky.

Ronna Waldman, daughter of

named to the dean’s list at the
University of Georgia for the
spring quarter.

a three-week tour of Israel.
The season began when the Atlanta AJC presented its annual
Human Relations Award to Mayor Massell. With him are Bill
Schwartz, former AJC chairman, and chairman Elson.

Ed Ebon passes the leadership
of Atlanta Chapter, American
Jewish Committee, to new chair
man Edward M. Abrams.
Abrams, vice president and
treasurer of A. R. Abrams, is an
alumnus of Notre Dame, a
former naval officer who served
during the World War 13 and
the Korean Conflict. He is a di
rector of Fox Manufacturing
Co., Rome; Weltman Mortgage
Co., Chicago; Community Coun
cil of Atlanta Area the Georgia
Region, National Conference of
Christians and Jews and promi
nent in other groups as well.
Elected vice chairmen were Her
bert J. Cohen, Washington Falk
III and Ga. Representative Sid
ney J. Marcus. The new secre
tary is J. Lester Fraser, the
treasurer Jerry A. Dubrof. A
feature of the recent meeting
was a talk by Morris Abram,
former chairman and former
president of Brandeis U., and a
tribute to DeJongh Franklin,
founder and for two decades an
outstanding AJC local, regional
and national laeder, being con
gratulated here by Mayor Mas-
sel and Mr. Abram.
