Feast of Fasting
Yom Kippur, on the tenth day of the new year, is
the Day of Atonement, a time for reflection and
reconciliation between man and God. It is on this
day that the unique character of Israel becomes
more tangible than at any other time. A whole
nation, in fast, spends this day in prayer and
thought. Yom Kippur in Israel has an atmosphere
of spiritual elevation. This day and the festivals
of welcoming the new year end with the sound of
the Shofar. It is said that hearing the Shofar
confers a blessing for a happy year. Another very
good reason for visiting Israel when thousands of
Shofars can be heard throughout the land.
EL AL Israel Airlines wishes you many happy years
and a pleasant flight aboard our swift and comfort
able jetliners. The meals aboard our flights are all
kosher, with traditional Jewish and Israeli gourmet
delights and the service is informal and friendly.
