COOKING

Summer Coleslaw
Summer is the time when we
are looking for light, easy and
refreshing dishes. We want to
be able to prepare the dish at
our leisure and use it when we
need it. And, we want the dish
to be cool, crisp and appetite
provoking. Well, we think that
our summer coleslaw answers
all those specifications. You
can prepare it hours ahead and
when you serve it, it will indeed
be tasty, refreshing and a nice
change from the regular green
salad.
For eight to ten
One medium head of cabbage
(green)
One medium onion
Two bell peppers
Six radishes
Two big carrots
One cup sour cream
Three top. salt
One tsp. sugar
Two tbls. cider vinegar
Ripe olives for garnish
1. Clean the vegetables and
peel onions and carrots. Cut and

its annual family outing, "An
Oid-Faahioned Picnic,’’ for 1
p. m., Sunday, July 25. The pic
nic will toe held at Field-
stone, the property of Ben Gross
in Conyers, Georgia.
The menu will include kosher
hot dogs, barbecue chicken,
hamburgers, corn on the cob,
watermelon, ice cream and soft
drinks.
Activities planned include
swimming, boating, fishing, hay
rides, softball and soccer.

Ashkelon pipeline which carries
oil from the Red Sea to the
Mediterranean will be expanded
from its present capacity of
twenty-two million tons per
year to forty-three million tons
in 1973, Deputy Finance Mini
ster Zvi Dinstein has announced.
He said work would start short
ly on underground oil storage
tanks with a capacity of one
million tons, which will be
ready when work on the pipe
line is completed.
TEL AVIV (JTA)—The popu
larity of President Richard M.
Nixon is on the rise in Israel
according to the latest sampling
of opinion by Public Opinion
Research of Israel Ltd. Accord
ing to the poll, 54 percent of Is
raelis are satisfied with Nixon’s
treatment of Israel, compared to
49 percent last March. Another
27 percent are “more or less”
pleased with Nixon’s attitude
toward this country. Only ten
percent are dissatisfied. Nine
percent had no opinion.

Dice the peppers and radishes
into very smail pieces. Mix all
vegetables, cover the bowl with
a plastic film and chill. Chilling
makes the vegetables crisp.
3. Before serving prepare the
sauce. Blend the sour cream
with salt, sugar, and vinegar.
Pour over vegetables and toss.
Serve cold, garnished with ripe
olives.

Moog, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
