Dr Murray Ste^in, a native of
Savannah, has been appointed to
a five-year term on the State
Board of Dental Examiners by
Gov. Jimmy Carter. Dr. Stein
has practiced dentistry in Rome,
Ga., for the last 20 years.
Tony Eichhoiz, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Eichhoiz, observed
his Bar Mitzva on December 11
at B'nai B’rith Jacob Synagogue.
Harold B. Goldberg, son of
Mrs. Hyman Goldberg and the
late Mr. Goldberg, has received
the Goddard Space Flight Cen
ter’s highest performance award
for personal initiative and crea
tivity in the development of a
microcircuit program for space
crafts. Goldberg, a resident of
Silver Spring, Md., is assigned to
the Space Center’s Greenbelt,
Md., operation.
Davis Cohen, who was admitt
ed to the State Bar of Georgia
this summer, has opened law of
fices in Savannah. He is married
to the former Marilyn Goldman
of Atlanta.
Dr. A. B. Kamine has been in
stalled president of the Georgia
Veterinary Medical Assn. Dr.
Kamine, a graduate of Rutgers
University College of Pharmacy
and Ohio University College of
Veterinary Medicine, previously
served on the faculty of the Uni
versity of Georgia’s school of
Veterinary Medicine. He has
been active in the Boy Scout
program in Savannah and is
chairman of the Retardation
Committee for United Community
Services. Dr. Kamine was recent
ly elected to the board of di
rectors of the Coastal Empire
Council of Boy Scouts of Amer
ica. He also has served for the
past three years as chairman of
the Alcohol and Drug Committee
of the Savannah Rotary Club.
Augusta Council
Taps M. Estroff
J. Maxwell Estroff, Augusta
businessman and civic worker,
was named to the Augusta Civil
Service Commission by the Au
gusta City Council.
Estroff was nominated to the
five-member Commiss ion by
Mayor Millard A. Beckum. He
will assume office January 1 for
a five year term. The commis
sion governs the city’s police and
fire departments.
