He has been a journalist for
more than forty years, most of
which has been spent on the
staff of The Israelite. At one
time he was a member of the
reportorial staff of the Atlanta
Journal and the Atlanta Consti
tution.

To Honor Mothers
A Mother-Daughter luncheon
in honor of Mother’s Day and
the Mothers-in-Israel is planned
by the Atlanta Chapter of
Mizrachi Women at 12:15 p.m.,
Monday, May 15, at the Shearith
Israel Social Hall.
Installation of officers for the
Atlanta Chapter and Batya
Group will also take place. Mrs.
Emanuel Feldman will install
these chapter officers: Mrs. Ed
win Galler, president; Mrs.
Harry Robkin, vice president;
Mrs. Joseph I. Zimmerman, rec.
sec.; Mrs. Joseph Hershey, cor.
sec.; and Mrs. A. J. Gruber,

Heading the Batya group will

present readings about Yiddishe
Mommas from Jewish literature
and Mrs. Moshe Gilboa, who
will lie leaving Atlanta soon, as
her husband completes his
Southeastern assignment as Con
sul.General of Israel, will speak
on “Jewish Women in Israel”

Unfortunately, due to a con
flict of dates between the Tem
ple and the Host Committee
meeting, many Temple members
who iiave indicated a willing
ness to serve on the committee
could not attend. Material and
information pertaining to the
dinner were mailed to them,
Di. Sehatten pinned the first
host committee sponsor’s pin on
Mrs. Lipson at the reception. This
pin, known as the “Key to
Peace,” was designed by the
foremost sculptor and artist,
Chaim Gross. The pin, which
carries his signature and was

Hebrew letters that spell Sha
lom. Over the letters are perch
ed two birds carrying the
olive branch. These birds are
symbolic of Israel Carrying the
timeless message of peace
throughout the world.
This pin, a collector’s item,
will be given to members of
the committee of hosts in ap
preciation for their efforts in
making the May 31 Israel Din
ner of State the success it des
erves to be, Dr. Sehatten noted.
