ert Mirvls, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley Allen Mirvis of Atlan
ta.
Miss Lenger is the grand
daughter of Robert Everritt and
the late Mrs. Lurline Everritt
of Atlanta, and Mrs. William
Hempton and the late William
Lenger of Pontiac, Mich.
The bride-elect is presently
attending Bronson School of
Nursing, Kalamazoo, Mich.,
where she is a member of Kap
pa Chi Iota. She plans to con
tinue her studies at the Medical
College of Georgia School of
Nursing in the fall.
Mr. Mirvis is the grandson of
the late Mr, and Mrs. Joseph
Blonstein of Atlanta and Los
Angeles and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Gus Mirvis of New York
City.
Mr. Mirvis is a graduate of
the University of Denver where
he was a member of Alpha Ep
silon Delta, a premedical honor
society. He is presently a jun
ior medical student at the Med
ical College of Georgia and
belongs to Phi Delta Epsilon
F raternity.
The wedding will be held
June 4 at Temple Beth Jacob
in Pontiac, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Gershon
of Atlanta announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Debra
Joan Gershon, to Leslie Brace
Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Yale Robinson of Westbury,
N. Y.
The bride-elect attended the
University of Georgia and is a
graduating senior at Georgia
State University where she is a
member of Kappa Delta Epsi
lon, and is an early childhood
education major.
Her grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Goldman of North
Miami Beach and the late Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar Gershon of At
lanta.
The future bridegroom is the
grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Na
than Robinson of Lowell, Mass.,
and Harry Winniman and the late
Mrs. Winniman of Brooklyn.
He received a BA degree in
biology from Emory University
where he is attending medical
school.
The couple plan a honeymoon
in the Virgin Islands and will
reside in Atlanta.
The wedding will be held
June 24 at the Royal Coach
Motel.

Mark Steven Bernhardt, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bern
hardt of Atlanta, and a joint
enrollment student from Briar-
cliff High School attending
Georgia Tech on a full-time
basis, has recently been awarded
several scholastic honors.
These include a four-year re
newable National Merit Scholar
ship, the Atlanta Chapter Certi
fied Public Accountants Award
for achieving a score of 99 r / on
their test of accounting aptitude,
and the Elks Decatur Lodge No.
1602 Outstanding Boy Student
Award. Mark has also been
named a Yale National Scholar
and been offered Dartmouth’s
Daniel Webster Scholarship.
While at Tech, Mark has main
tained a straight “A” average
and has been the recipient of
many honors at his high school.
He is in the top 10 of his class,
has been twice class president,
a Governor’s Honors finalist in
science, a recipient of the Order
of the Lamp Award for scholas
tic achievement, and the Uni
versity of Georgia Certificate of
Merit, first place winner in
State second year Latin compe
tition and third place winner in
DeKalb County Science Fair
His high school memberships
include Monogram Letter Club,
National Honor Society, Beta
Club, Junior Civitan, Key Club
and he has served as school
paper cartoonist and as sports
editor of the yearbook.

The prospective bridegroom

As New President

Shoes was formally installed as
president of Atlanta Trade Cen
ter at the merchandising organ
ization’s annual dinner. Politi
cal figure Hal Suit was key
speaker for the occasion.
Those appointed to serve as
committee chairmen for the fol
lowing year are Jimmy Paul,
Georgia Fabric Co.; Jack LeVan,
H. Mendel Co.; Marvin Cohen,
Atlanta Handbag Co.; Bernie
Lewis, Lewis Textile Company;
and Don Appel, Appel Associ
ates.
In addition to Halperin, other
officers named for two-year
terms were Irving Adair of
Riada Mills and Harry Solomon
of Don Mark, vice presidents;
Rubin Silverstein, Carola’s Cos
tume Jewelry, treasurer; and Har

tary.

HEALTHY BABY MONTH is being observed during May hy
the 13 women’s organizations (participating in BIB (Better Infant
Births) of the March of Dimes. New and used maternity clothes,
baby clothes, diapers and other layette items are being collected
in decorated boxes such as that shown above by Mrs. Robert
Kaplan (1) of the Service Guild and Claudia Bain and Jill Levy
of Malachim Chapter of B’nai B’rith Youth Organization. The
layettes serve as an incentive to needy expectant mothers to
seek early and regular prenatal care. Collection boxes have been
placed at customer call stands of Rich’s suburban stores.
