Israel's Ambassador To UN
To Speak al Atlanta Bond Dinner

will come to Atlanta on Wednes
day, May 31, to be the guest
speaker at the Atlanta-Israel
dinner of state honoring Larry
M. Frank, recipient-elect of the
Prime Minister’s Medallion to
perpetuate the humanitarian
spirit of the late Benjamin J.
Massell.
Ambassador Tekoah will per
sonally participate in the pres-
..etitation to Mr. Frank, as a tri
bute to the honoree and the
Atlanta community.
Ambassador Tekoah, one of
Israel’s foremost statesmen, was
director general of the foreign
Ministry prior to assuming his
present post. Before serving as
Israel’s Ambassador to the USSR
from 1961 to 1965, he was Am
bassador to Brazil. Prior to that
he was Israel’s Deputy Perma
nent Representative and Minis
ter Plenipotentiary to the Uni
ted Nations.
His personal life reflects the
color and drama of an Israel re
born. He has distinguished him
self as the Director of Armistice
Affairs in Israel's Foreign Min
istry as ex officio head of Isra
el’s Delegations to Mixed Armis
tice Commissions with Egypt,
Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.

To Choose Name
A name will be chosen for the
B’nai B’rith Women Area Six
chapter at the group’s next
meeting set for 10:15 a.m.,
Thursday. May 18, at the home
of Barbara Amato.
The April meeting featured a
talk by Greg Dixon, director of
“The Link.” North Atlanta Med
iation Center. After a talk about
problems relating to today’s
youth, there was a question
period. Study groups with Mr.
Dixon are planned for the
future.
At the May 18 meeting, the
group plans to affix four re
maining signatures to the char
ter application and invites per
sons interested in being charter
members to attend. Additional

Tekoah was educated at the
University L’ Aurore, Shanghai,
China, where he received the
degree of Licencie en Droit
(LLB,) and at Harvard Univer
sity where he earned an MA de-
”f1 gree. He was an instructor in
International Relations at Har
vard. He is one of the most
sought-after dinner speakers on
the American-Israeli scene.
Serving as chairman of the
dinner and campaign for 1972
is Dr. William E. Schatten. Joan
and Nathan Lipson are chair
men of the Committee of Hosts.
The Dinner is under the aus
pices of the Atlanta Israel Bond
Committee.
Music with an Israeli theme
will Ire played during the eve
ning. Cost of the Dinner will be
$10.00 per person.
Prior to the dinner a Recep
tion of State will be given for
Ambassador Tekoah by Mr. and
Mrs. Frank. The invitations to
the reception will be extended
to members of the host com
mittee, their guests and the dig
nitaries attending. Reservations

designed pin depicts Israel's hope and desire for peace. This pin
was presented to Mrs. Lipson at the Host Committee Reception
at her home on April 30. Members of the host committee, whoso
efforts will help in making the dinner a most memorable event
in the Atlanta community, will receive this pin at the dinner
on May 31 The dimmer in honor of I,arry M. Frank will launch
the 1972 Israel Bond Campaign.

Mrs. Janice Rothschild will
address members of Golda Meir
Chapter of Pioneer Women at
an Oneg Shabbat to be held
at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20,
at the home of Mrs. Morris
Warshaw, 935 Wildwood Rd.,
N. E.
Mrs. Rothschild will share
some of the experiences she and
Rabbi Rothschild had during
their recent three months stay in
Israel.
Mrs. Bernard Sloman is to be
honored as a life member of
National Pioneer Women of
America.
Brandeis University National
Women's Committee, Atlanta
Chapter, will hold its annual
arts festival from 7:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, and
from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, May 16, at the Stan
dard Club.
The exhibition and sale of 150
major prints will benefit the
Brandeis University Library.
The show has been organized
by Mrs. Herbert Lee, director
of the Lee Gallery in Belmont,
Mass. Thi> Lee Gallery repres
ents many major graphics
workshops and specializes in
drawings, prints and water
colors by leading modern artists
as well as lesser-known young
artists.
Mrs. Lee has boon organizing
exhibitions for charitable orga
nizations and universities for
many years. She is a member
of the board of overseers of the
Rose Art Museum at Brandeis
and [last president of the
Friends of the Rose Art Muse
um. Mrs. Lee has taught art
courses, lectured on modern art
and currently advises clients in
developing art collections. While
in Atlanta, she will lx> avail
able to offer advice and coun
seli to persons visiting the Bran-
deis exhibit.
The showing will include orig
inal graphics, multiples, posters
and photographs. Prices will
range from a $10 poster to a
$1600 Picasso and works will
represent major trends of the
past decade.
Also available will be paint
ings, needlecraft and gourmet
items donated by members of
Brandeis.
