Atlanta CJW Taps M rs. Ilingel
As “Outstanding Leader’’
Mrs. Herbert Ringel is this
year’s recipient of the Hannah
G. Solomon award presented by
Atlanta Section, National Coun
cil of Jewish Women. The
award named for Council*
founder is presented “to an out
standing leader .... committed
to Council’s goal of equality of
opportunity for all people re
gardless of race, sex, or creed.”
Mrs. Ringel received the
award for chairing the Day Care
Survey for the Atlanta Section,
NCJW; compiling the findings
and providing for their inclus
ion in the National Study, “Win
dows on Day Care”; and for the
development of a proposal and
plan which has subsequently led
to the establishment of a Child
Care Center at Grady Memorial
Hospital.
She is a native of Pittsburgh,
Penna., and is a graduate of
Wellesley. She currently serves
on the board of directors of the
Community Coordinated Child

The Ringels are the parents
of five children and are mem
bers of the Temple.
The Hannah G. Solomon
Award is presented only those
years that a recipient is found
deserving of such recognition.
Mrs. Ringel is the first recipient
since 1970. Previous recipients
are Mrs. Joel Pressman, Mrs.
Teena Mohr, Harold Brockey,
Elizabeth Ferguson and Mr«.
Max Gettinger.
