Urge More Funds
NEW YORK (J11A) — Nearly
400 principals and administra
tors of Hebrew Day Schools who
met in annual convention re
cently in Greenfield Park,
N.Y., strongly criticized the
communal establishment for its
alleged failure to support ade
quately Hebrew Day School ed
ucation.
“Fund-raising arms of the Jew
ish community such as Feder
ation and Welfare Funds spent a
great deal of time drafting
guidelines for support but very
little time on actually mobiliz
ing and funneling financial sup
port to the economically hard
pressed schools,” a convention
resolution stated.
