Federation Extends Campaign;
Chairmen Urge All-Out Effort
The 1972 annual campaign of
the Atlanta Jewish Welfare
Federation which should have
ended May 31, according to Sid
ney Feldman, general chairman,
is being extended in order to
reach those contributors who
have still not made their com
mitments to the ’72 Drive.
Pledge cards are requested to
be turned in by the volunteer
workers. “The campaign cannot
be closed, Feldman said, “until
everyone in Atlanta does his
part to bring life and hope to
less fortunate Jews wherever
they may be, here in our own
community, Israel, Soviet Union
and every country where Jews
live.”
president and David Goldwas-
ser, 1972 Pace Setter chairman,
appeal to all division workers,
“we need your best efforts in
this final phase of the cam
paign. We need personal soli
citations wherever possible be
cause this is the best way to
tell the important story that
must be told. We know you
have worked hard up to this
point; we ask you to work
harder now. Less than this
won’t accomplish the task. It is
those who have not yet pledged,
wo ask, “Give as you have never
given before. Only with your
support can we make this cam
paign successful.”
Chairman Feldman concluded,
“In behalf of the campaign
leaders, we are proud of what
this community has done and
what it is capable of doing.
Those of us working in behalf
of the campaign are dedicated
to meeting the necessary goals.
I hope within the next few
weeks we will have most of
the campain completed and will
be able to report a record total
giving for Atlanta Jewry.”
Zionist Fund Council
Vice chairmen Jerry Dubrof
and Harvey Jacobson explained
that the campaign requires
additional increases in order
to meet the communi t y ’ s
total needs. “It is apparent that
we can meet our goal only if we
redouble our efforts at all
levels of the campaign organ
ization and continue to obtain
contributions and commitments
from all members of our Jew
ish community,” they added.
