Topics at JWB Biennial
Tho discussions on the plight of Soviet Jewry at the recent
biennial of the Jewish Welfare Board received close attention
from these participants. Above are G. C. Laskensky, asst, execu
tive director of the Atlanta Jewish Welfare Federation; Mrs.
Harry Hoffman and Mrs. Bernard Rosenberg, both of Denver;
Arthur Stanton of Norfolk, Sam Lear of Camden County; Debbie
Garfunkel of Savannah, president of the Jewish Youth Council
there anti David Susskind of Brussels, Belgium.
Participants in the JWB’s Family Life Education panel included

Miss Marsha Ann Jay, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan
Jay of Athens, was married to
Jon Milton Glazman of Bir
mingham, on June 4 at twelve
noon at the Temple Congrega
tion Children of Israel in
Athens. The bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan
Glazman of Birmingham.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. Rabbi Mor
ton Deutsah officiated at the
ceremony.
Mr. Glazman was his son’s
best man. Groomsmen were
Alan Glazman, brother of the
bridegroom, of Fredricksburg,
Va., David Jay, brother of the
bride, of Rocky Mount, N.C.,
Joel Ginsburg of Augusta, Nor
man Kraar of Atlanta, and
Michael McLane of Birming
ham.
Mrs. David Jay was the
matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Miss Diane Rauzin of
Atlanta and Miss Amy Romoff,
of Atlanta; Miss Greer Madden
and Miss Anne Segrest, both
of Athens.

Mrs. Rothschild, whose col
umn on Israel has appeared
frequently in The Southern
Israelite, was invited to con
tribute the Encyclopedia ma
terial on Atlanta Jewry, Geor
gia Jewry and on Mayor Sam
Massed.
Her material has also ap
peared often in the Sunday
Magazine of the Atlanta Jour
nal-Constitution.
It was previously reported in
TSI that Dr. Leon Spotts was a
contributor to the new “Juda
ica.”
Eric Miller, son of Hyman Mil
ler of Atlanta and the late
Sophie Miller, was graduated
Cum Laude from Boston Uni
versity on May 21 with a BA
degree. As an economics and
sociology major, Miller was ad
mitted to Omlcron Delta Epsilon,
honorary economics society. He
is a graduate of Henry Grady
High School in Atlanta. Before
beginning graduate work, he
will be employed in the Boston
area.
