Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allyn
Straus of Richmond, Va., an
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Joyce Ann Straus, to
Arthur Jay Schwartz, son of
Mr. and Mrs. William B.
Schwartz Jr. of Atlanta.
Miss Straus is the grand
daughter of Mrs. William Nadler
of Brooklyn, and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Charles E. Straus Jr. of
Richmond.
The bride-elect is a graduate
of Virginia Commonwealth Uni
versity.
Mr. Schwartz is the grand
son of A. J. Weinberg and the
late Mrs. Weinberg and the late
Mr. and Mrs. ^William B.
Schwartz.
He attended the Westminster
Schools and was graduated
from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill where
he was a member of the Honor
Council, Order of the Old Well
and Zeta Beta Tau.
The future bridegroom re
ceived a J. D. degree from Em
ory University Law School
where he was a member of Phi
Delta Phi, and will be associ
ated with the law firm of Smith,
Cohen, Ringel, Kohler, Martin
and Lowe in September.
The wedding will be held
August 12 at the Jeffereon
Lakeside Country Club in Rich
mond.

Phyllis Ann Zwerner, daugh
ter of Mrs. Eunice Zwerner of
Atlanta, became the bride of
Jack Wexler on Sunday, June
U, at Temple Emanu-El in
New York City. The bridegroom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Saul
Wexler of New York.
Mrs. Richard Rosenbaum of
Framingham, Mass., sister of the
bridegroom, was matron of
honor. The best man was the
bride’s brother, Robert Zwerner
of New York City.
The reception was held at the
Cafe Promenade, Rockefeller
Center. After a wedding trip to
the Poconos, the newlyweds will
Uve in New York City.
Siegel-Benbenisty
Sally Lynn Siegel, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Siegel of
Atlanta, became the bride of
Victor M. Benbenisty, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Benben
isty of Atlanta on Thursday,
June 8, at the Ahavath Achim
Synagogue.
Rabbi Harry H. Epstein, Rabbi
Robert Ichay and Cantor Isaac
Goodfriend officiated.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father. Matron
of honor was Mrs. Harvey M.
Siegel. Bridesmaids were Mar
ilyn Benbenisty, Mrs. Lewis
Benbenisty and Helene Halpern.
Mrs. David Winitt kept the
bride’s book.
Morris Benbenisty was his
son’s best man. Groomsmen
were Lewis Benbenisty, Murray
S Siegel, Paul J. Siegel, Harvey
M. Siegel, and Albert Amato.
After a wedding trip to Flor
ida, the couple will reside in
Atlanta.
