A collection of Israeli art en
titled “Israeli Masters - New and
Old” is being sponsored by Atlan
ta Hillel Federation April 16-20 at
Hillel House, 1531 Clifton Rd.,
N.E.
The exhibit, assembled by
Pucker/Safrai Gallery of
Jerusalem and Boston, marks
Hillel's observance of Israel’? 27th
birthday. The public is invited to a
sherry opening at 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, Apr. 16. Consul
General Shlonio Levy will formal
ly open the exhibition.
Artists whose works will be
shown include Adolf Adler,
Edward Ben Avram, Shemuel
Bonneh, Rina Rotholz, David
Sharir, Joseph Steinhardt, Jossi
Stern, William Weintraum,
Moshe Bernstein, Naftali Benzem,
Chaki, Moshe Gat, Shemuel Katz,
Reuven Rubin and others. Prices
range from $55 to $1200.
Hours of the exhibition afe:
April 17-18, 10 a.m. until noon, 2-
4 p.m. and 8-10 p.m.; April 19, 10
a.m. until noon and 2-4 p.m.; April
20, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Information is

Rally April 13
The public is invited to attend a
community-wide program obser
ving “Solidarity Day for Soviet
Jewry" at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Apr.
13 at th.e Emory University
Biology Auditorium.
Part of a nationally coordinated
effort of concern, the Atlanta
event is being sponsored by Atlan
ta Hillel/Federation.
Feaured will be a film, “Out
of Bondage,” tracing historical
and cultural root? of Jews in the
Soviet Union.
Families who have comp to
Atlanta from the,Soviet Union will
be present to share their ex
periences.
There is no admission.
Metro Red Cross
Slates Meeting
Elmo Ellis, WSB-Radio vice
president and general manager,
will be featured speaker at the 61st
annual meeting of the
Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter,
American Red Cross, at 12:15
p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 16, at the
Sheraton Biltmore Hotel.
Theme of the event is "Put Your
Heart in the Right Place.”
Mr.Ellis will speak on the “spirit
of volunteerism."
Adolph Rosenberg, editor and
publisher of The Southern
Israelite, will receive the Red
Cross Good Neighbor ^kward for
"excellence in ethnic community
coverage in 1974/75.”
"Sherlock Holmes"
Opens at Alliance
“Sherlock Holmes and the
Curse of the Sign of the Four, or
the Mark of the Timber Toe”
opened this week at the Alliance
Theatre.
The detective melodrama is
written and directed by Dennis
Rosa and is based on the tales of
Arthur Conan Doyle.
The chase after arch-criminal
Moriarity continues at the
Alliance through Sunday, Apr. 26,
with evening performances
Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8
o’clock and Sunday matinees at
2:30 p.m.
