Plans Installation May 10
On Saturday, May 10, the new
officers and board of trustee's of
Atlanta Lodge of B'nai B’rith will
be installed at the Northlake
Hilton Inn. There will be a
cocktail reception at 7:30 p.m. and
dinner at 8:30 p.m.
The new officers to be installed
are Marshall S. Solomon, presi
dent; Hirsch Bressler, president
elect; Lee Weinstein, Jack
Hanchrow, and Robert Bloom,

Marshall Solomon is a native
Atlantan and has been a member
of B'nai B'rith since 1968. He is
president-elect of the Georgia
State B’nai B'rith Association and
was the recipient of the Atlanta
Lodge "Man Of The Year Award"
in 1973 and the recipient of the
Community And Veterans Ser
vices "Volunteer of the Year"
Award for 1974 from District 5
B'nai B'rith.
He is a member of the board of
trustees of the Ahavath Achim
Synagogue and a member of the
board of governors of the Rabbi
Harry H. Epstein School. He has
recently been appointed as a
member of the B’nai B’rith Inter
national Membership Advisory
Council.
Mr. Solomon is the president of
Comet Manufacturing Corpora
tion, an Atlanta based chemical
manufacturing firm. Marshall’s
wife Gail is now serving as presi
dent of the Greater Atlanta Coun
cil of B’nai B’rith Women.
A special part of this year’s
program will be a tribute and a life
membership to be presented to
Durward “Dutch" Gerson for his
many years of dedicated service to
Atlanta Lodge and B’nai B’rith."
Ronald Cahn, who is currently
District 5 director of BBYO, will
assume the duties of executive

Cantor Isaac Goodfriend has
been named chairman of the
Liberation Dance being held at
9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the
Atlanta Jewish Community
Center. The event is sponsored by
Eternal Life-Hemshech, organiza
tion of survivors from nazism, to
mark the 30th anniversary of the
end of World War II.
