Mizrachi Women Form
New Chapter for Jubilee
Mizrachi Women of Atlanta are
marking the 50th Anniversary of
American Mizrachi Women with
the formation of a new chapter
called Gesher Tzion (Zion Bridge).
The new chapter recently receiv
ed its charter from Mrs. Edwin
GaUer, past president of Atlanta
Chapter. Mrs. Galler also installed
the slate of officers headed by Rae
Bellman and Naomi May,
presidents.
Atlanta’s first chapter was
founded the same year Israel
became a state — 1948 — with the
late Mrs. Abe Auerbach as first
president. Other presidents have
been the late Mrs. Ida Goncher,
The first of this summer’s televi
sion series "L’Chaim — To Life"
will be broadcast on WSB Radio
from 10:30 to II p.m. Sunday,
June 29. The series explores
different facets of life in Israel to
day.
“Prospects for Peace in the
Middle East” will be explored for
the first program. Participants in
the discussion will be Sidney Feld
man, president of the Atlanta
Jewish Welfare Federation; Jerry
Dubrof, co-chairman of the Anti-
Defamation League's Middle East
Committee and chairman of the
Atlanta Jewish Community
the late Mrs. Bennie Auerbach,
Mrs. Harry Robkin, Mrs. Philip
Levetan, Mrs. Edwin Galler and
again as current president, Mrs.
Robkin.
Mrs. Robkin, who also serves on
the national board and as liaison
for the southeast region, noted that
American Mizrachi Women is
celebrating its Golden Jubilee with
a convention in Israel from July
21-August 4. The 200th anniver
sary of this country will be marked
at a gathering in Washington Oc
tober 19-22.

who has visited Israel twice, most

Subsequent programs will deal
With the military situation in the
Middle East, peace talks between
President Ford and leaders of the
Israel and Arab governments; and
what is happening in Israel today.
The series is produced in
cooperation with the Southeastern
office of the Anti-Defamation
League of B’nai B’rith.
