OBITUARIES
A. Maurice Loveman Dies;
Tenn. Businessman Was 81
A. Maurice Loveman of
Nashville, owner and president of
A. M. LoVeman Lumber and Box
Co., died Saturday, Aug. 2.
Graveside services were held
Monday, Aug 4, at Temple
Cemetery in Nashville with Rabbi
Randall M. Falk officiating.
■Mr. Loveman attended Vander
bilt University and was graduated
from Yale University and from
Harvard Business School.
He was a member of the Vine
Street Temple, the Jewish Com
munity Center, the American
Council for Judaism, and Rotary
Club.
An accomplished flutist,
Loveman traveled and performed
throughout Europe in 1958 with an
American symphony orchestra.
He was a founder and board
member of the first Nashville
Symphony and was a founder and
for many years a board member of
the present Nashville Symphony.
Loveman was a sponsor and life
member of the Nashville Friends
of Chamber Music and a member
of the Amateur Chamber Music
Players.
Loveman had earned medals in
swimming and track.
Survivors include his wife,
J. George Greenberg
FORT LAUDERDALE: J.
George Greenberg, 73, died Satur
day, Aug. 9.
Funeral was held August 11 in
Savannah with interment in
Bonaventure Cemetery there.
Mr. Greenberg was a native of
Savannah and a graduate of
Savannah High School. He also
was a graduate of Georgia Tech
and New York University. He was
a member of Congregation
Agudath Achim.
Mr. Greenberg was executive
vice president of the Fur Manufac
turers Assn, of New York.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Etta Greenberg of Fort Lauder
dale; daughter, Mrs. Irene Stern of
Beverly Hills, Calif.; son, Aaron
Greenberg of Livingston, N.J.; and
three grandchildren.
Mrs. Louis Longwater
Mrs. Mollie Kahn Longwater,
79, of Atlanta died Saturday, Aug.
9.
Graveside services were held
Sunday, Aug. 10, at Crest Lawn
Memorial Park with Rabbi Alvin
Sugarman officiating.
Mrs. Longwater was born in
Russia. She moved to Atlanta
from Savannah in 1939. A charter
member of B’nai B’rith Women,
she was also a member of the Tem-
* pie and its Sisterhood.
Survivors are her husband,
Louis Longwater; daughter, Mrs.
Anna Belle Simmons Jr. of
Denver; son, William Longwater
of Atlanta and five grandsons.
Hyman S. Glass
Hyman S. Glass, 79, of Miami
Beach, formerly of Atlanta, died
Sunday, Aug. 10.
Funeral was held Tuesday, Aug.
12, in Miami Beach, with inter
ment in Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Richanji;
Glass of Sevres, France; sistem ,
Fannie Glass of Atlanta, ang*
Grace Glass of Arlington, Va., and
a granddaughter. ^

Lucille Loveman; daughter, Mrs.
Emily L. Kisber of Atlanta; son,
Andrew Maurice Loveman of
Nashville and two granddaughters,
Susie and Amy Loveman Kisber of
Atlanta.
Sam Zaban
Sam Zaban, 82, of Atlanta died
Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Funeral was held Thursday,
Aug. 7, with Rabbi Harry H. Eps
tein and Cantor Isaac Goodfriend
officiating.
Mr. Zaban, a native of
Hungary, was a retired hardware
salesman. He was a member of
Shearith Israel Congregation and
the United Hebrew Benevolent
Society.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Rose Goldberg Zaban; daughters,
Mrs. Jerome S. Merlin and Mrs.
Alvin Miller, both of Atlanta; son,
Robert L. Zaban of Kansas City,
Mo., and eight grandchildren.
Saul Jerome
Saul Jay Jerome, 73, of
Tamarac, Fla., died Sunday, Aug.
10.
Funeral was held in Atlanta on
Tuesday, Aug. 12, with Rabbi
Martin S. Lawson officiating.
Interment was in Arlington
Memorial Park.
Mr. Jerome was production
manager for B. Lippman. Inc. He
was a native of Russia.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Estelle Lippman; daughter,
Mrs. Ronald Lorenc of
Dunwoody; sister, Mrs. Geri
Yalen of West Hartford, Conn.;
brother, Harvey Jerome of Boston.

Caldwell, 85, of Memphis died
Saturday, Aug. 9. She was the
mother of Felix L. Caldwell of
Savannah.
Funeral was held August 11 in
Memphis with interment in the
Temple Israel Cemetery there.
Mrs. Caldwell was a member of
Temple Israel in Memphis.
Other survivors include a
daughter, Mrs. Carl M. Caufman
of Little Rock, Ark.; another son,
Jerome L. Caldwell of Memphis;
ten gfandchildren and three great
grandchildren.
