City of Hope Starts
Fall Membership Drive
The Atlanta Chapter, City of
Hope, will kick off its fall
membership drive at 10:30 a.m.
Monday, Sept. 22, with a cham
pagne brunch at the Willow
Creek Club House, 550 Aber
nathy Rd., Sandy Springs.,
Membership vice presidents

Mrs. Jack Zimler, 351-1927, are
taking reservations and answer
ing questions about City of
Hope. There will be a $3.50
charge for members, but all
prospective members will be
guests of the chapter. Mr.
Michael Brody will coordinate
the jewelry and gift boutique.
Mrs. Robert Margolin, presi
dent of Atlanta Chapter, noted
that the City of Hope free, non
sectarian pilot medical center in
Duarte, Calif., has pioneered
programs in research and care of

Expedition
Temple Singles will par
ticipate in a mixture of cultures
for its September 21 meeting —
Jewish, Chinese and American
Indian.
Meeting at 11:30 a.m. at the
Temple parking lot, the group
will first drive to Szechuan
Gardens restaurant at 5458
Buford Highway. The price is
$5.75 to members and non
members, which includes buffet,
tax, tip and transportation.
Second destination is the
Etowah Indian Mounds in North
Georgia.

Meet Sept. 29
The Ladies Auxiliary of the
Mack Frankel Atlanta Post 112
Jewish War Veterans will open
its new season on Monday, Sept.
29, with a supper meeting at the
Western Sizzler Steak House
meeting room, Northeast Plaza,
at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will
begin at 8 p.m.
Members will go through the
serving line and select their own
menu. Further information can

Mrs. William Bromberg,
president, will report on the 48th
JWVA National Convention in
Las Vegas. Fifteen Atlanta Aux
iliary members attended as
delegates.
Mrs. Bess Taffel, chairman of
the Adopt-a-Hospital program,
will lead a caravan Sunday, Oct.
5, to the Augusta Veterans Ad
ministration Hospital. Atlanta
Auxiliary and Post members
will be guests of the patients at a
cook-out.
Mrs. Ethel Kessler, and Mrs.
Seymour Rappaport, fund
raising chairman, urge members
to bring moneys and stubs for
the Auxiliary Post joint Gif-
torama drawing which will be
held Sunday, Oct. 26.
Brandeis Plans
Membership Fete

Committee will be entertained
with sherry and informal model
ing at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.
30, at Neiman Marcus.
The organization, sole support
of the Brandeis University
libraries, is the largest friends-
of-the-university mqvement In
the world. The local membership
of 1,100 women conduct a used
book sale, study groups and a
creative arts festival.

Plans Open House
The Rabbi Harry E. Epstein
Solomon Schechter School will
hold an open house and general
meeting on Thursday, Sept. 25,
at 8:00 p.m.

Senior Young Judaea/

new membership, with a gather
ing planned for Wednesday,
Sept. 24, to tell its story.
Hasachar, the largest Zionist
youth movement in America, is
a co-ed group for Jewish youth,
grades 9-12.

migrants continuing to arrive in
Atlanta, and Vietnamese
refugees now being resettled,
The Jewish Family and
Children’s Bureau is seeking
volunteers to assist in the
resettlement.

Radio Series
With Sinai Show
The final program in the Anti-
Defamation League’s WSB
summer radio series, “L’Chayim
- To Life," will be broadcast on
Sunday evening. Sept. 21, at
10:30 p.m. The subject of the
final program will be ‘The Sinai
Agreement: The Effect on
America and Israel.”

appear as guests and be inter
viewed by Aubrey Morris, of
WSB Radio, and Stuart
Lewengrub of the ADL.

son, Daniel Allen, on August 27.
Mrs. Lipsitz is the former Judy
Robkin, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Max E. Robkin of Atlanta.

Dr. and Mrs. Philip Irving
Krugman of Atlanta announce
the engagement of their
daughter, Ducie, to Ira Lloyd
Rachelson, son of Mrs. Ben
Rachelson and the late Mr.
Rachelson.
Miss Krugman is the grand
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Edward G. Friedman, and
the late Benjamin Krugman and
Mrs. Mary Krugman.
Mr. Rachelson is the grandson
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Farber and the late Mr. and Mrs.
Israel Rachelson.
Miss Krugman attended the
University of Alabama, and
received her bachelors degree in
education from the University of
Texas. She also received a M.Ed
degree -from Georgia State
University. She is currently
employed by the Fulton County
Board of Education as a
specialist in learning dis
abilities.
Mr. Rachelson is a graduate of
Emory University and received
his J.D. degree from Emory
University School of Law. He is
a partner in the law firm of
Kaler, Karesh-, and Frankel.

Youth Seek Jobs
To Pay Pledges
Teens belonging to B’nai
B’rith Youth Organization are
seeking odd jobs from Atlanta
businessmen to earn money to
pay the pledges they made to the
Atlanta Jewish Welfare Federa
tion campaign.
BBYO members are urged to
make their contributions from
funds they earn themselves,
rather than money from
parents, in order to know the
real meaning of giving, said Jetj
Mescon and Debbie Steinberg,
who chaired the BBYO fund
drive. Anyone able to offer work
is asked to call the BBYO office,
