Although differing religious
views, orthodox, conservative
and reform, are represented in
the Sisterhoods’ membership,
the luncheon programs are de
signed to emphasize common in
terests.

from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov.
7, is the synagogue’s major
fund raising effort. Featured
will be food, toys, clothes,
bric-a-brac, notions, country
store, movies and cartoons. A
special event will be a 4 p.m.
antique auction with Morris
Ringel in charge.
The community is invited.

Zionists Slate
Oct. 28 Meeting
The Atlanta Zionist District is
having an open board meeting at
8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the
Atlanta Jewish Community
Center. Events for the coming
year will be planned. Rabbi
Robert Ichay of Congregation Or
VeShalom will speak.
Cantor Isaac Goodfriend,
president, invites the
membership and any other in
terested persons to attend. There
will be a report on deliberations
of the recent 79th annual con
vention.

Sinai Book
“The Happy Cooker,” a
cookbook published by the
Women’s Committee of Temple
Sinai, will participate in two
cooking events during October.
Mrs. Eva Stern, president of
the Women’s Committee, and
Mrs. Toni Adler, will represent
"Happy Cooker” in the Larry
Lucas Cooking School on Friday,
Oct. 22. in Mr. Lucas’ store on
Roswell Road. They will show
representative recipes from the
book.
Also planned for October 22 is
the Parkaire Mall Fall Food
Festival. Participating will be
Mrs. Nancy Zimmerman, Mrs.
Barbara Katinsky, Mrs. Lenore
Friedman, and Mrs. Judy
Fenster.
“The Happy Cooker” may be

in numerous locations around

“Sisterhood Day" sessions are

In addition to classes in cook
ing, exercise and physical
fitness, and needlework, Rabbi
Harvey Winokur will discuss
“Women in the Jewish Life
Cycle” on October 25.
On November 8 and 15,
Leonard Kramish will lead the
scholar series in a discussion on
“The Other Israel.” On Novem
ber 22 and 29, Rabbi Alvin Su-
garman will discuss “Election
Reflections,” a book review of
William Manchester’s “The
P’tree 0RT Slates
Chinese Auction
Peachtree Chapter of
Women’s American ORT will
have a Chinese Auction at 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 23, at LaVista
Women’s Club.
A Chinese buffet will be serv
ed and a cash bar will be
available at the cost of $6.00 per
couple. Following dinner, there
will be an auction of items
donated by many of Atlanta's
businesses. Items will include
jewelry, glass by Frabel, toys,
gift itefns and furniture.
Funds raised will support
ORTs school building fund for
construction costs, and the social
assistance program for material
and cultural benefits.
