Jewish Home Telethon Sunday
As a wind-up of the solicita
tion program for new voluntary
contributors to the Jewish
Home, a telethon will be held
Sunday, Oct. 31, from 9:QQ a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. at the Federation
building.
Spearheaded by Irving
Libowsky, Phyllis Solomon,
Roaalie Alterman and Dorothy
Zimmerman, 25 additional
volunteer* will assist in
soliciting members of the Jewish

working this telethon, are truly

Adult Studies
The Temple’s continuing
education program has an
nounced its fall session, which
will be held at 8:15 p.m. for five
consecutive Monday evenings,
beginning November 1.
Participants will have a choice
of five classes.
Rabbi Alvin M. Sugarman will
lead a course on "The Philosophy
and Works of Maimonides.”
“Moses and Others Were Per
sons Too” is the topic Leonard
Kramish has chosen for an ex
amination of Biblical per
sonalities and events.
Rabbi Harvey J. Winokur will
teach a course entitled “Jewish
Life Cycle Ceremonies.”
Young parents are offered
guidelines for better com
munication with their children
in a class called “Mazel Tov,
You’re a Parent,” to be taught by
Steve Gerson.
“The History of National
Socialism and the Holocaust,”
taught by Dr. Bob Bell, will
cover background material on
the Nazi movement with
emphasis on the anti-Semitism
inherent in the Nazi party.
All participants will coipbine
after their first class for dis
cussions and slide presentations
on Israel.
