Sherry Frank, committee
chairperson, in announcing-the
demonstration, said, “Cultural
events of this nature provide
concerned Atlanta Jewry with
the opportunity to publicly
protest in a peaceful and effec
tive manner, the repressive
treatment of our Jewish
brethren behind the Iron Cur
tain.”
Organizations are being re
quested to announce the
demonstration at their
meetings, and urge their
members to participate in this
protest “Let us make feelings
known to the public, to the
members of the “Balalaika
Orchestra” and to the leaders of
the Kremlin. We want to recruit
at least five members from each
organisation who will par
ticipate. Their families and
children will be most welcome,"
Mrs. Frank said.
The group will gather in front
of the Fox Theater no later than
8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, to
participate in the demonstra
