TEL AVIV, (JTA) — The
American F-I5 jet fighters that
Israel has bought from the U. S.
will embody changes suggested
by the Israel Air Force that will
improve the plane’s perfor

ed.
They said that the U. S. Air
Force was seriously considering
incorporating these changes into
its own operational F-16e. Israel
ordered 25 of the planes from the
McDonnel Douglas Corp.
Three were delivered in
December and the rest, with the
requested changes, will be
delivered late this year and in
1978. the U.S. is said to expect
additional orders for the F-15
but the Israel Air Force prefers
to wait for the F-16 which is
more advanced and cheaper.

Israeli soldiers and Lebanese
Christian militiamen met in
bloodless combpt on Israeli
territory and the Israelis were
defended 24). It, was the second
soccer contest between official
enemies who have become good
neighbors. In the earlier game,
an Israeli civilian eleven
whipped a team composed of
Lebanese workers in Israel by a
score of 6-3.
The earlier match was played
on the football field of Maalot,
the Upper Galilee township
where terrorist infiltrators from
Lebanon murdered more than a
score of Israeli hikers sleeping in

The festive event, watched by
200 Lebanese and several hun
dred Israelis, signified the
changes that have taken place in
the region since the tragedy of
Maalot. Even more symbolic was
the exchange of cups between
the rival teams after the game.
The Lebanese cup was inscribed
in Arabic with the words “Peace
Meeting.” The Israeli cup had
the wprds “For Good Luck” in
Hebrew.
The latest game was played on
the parking lot of the Israel in
firmary which serves Lebanese
civilians. The contestants were
soldiers garrisoned at Maalot
and militiamen from the
Lebanese border village of Klea.
