Purim fete
From hamentaschen to
helium balloons, traditional and
modernfestivities will blend in a
Purim Potpourri, Sunday, Fab.
27, from 8 to 7 p.m. at Temple
Sinai.
The annual carnival will
feature an assortment of games
of skill and chance for children
and adults, including a Haman
Toes, a Bingo-like game called
P.U.R.I.M., and a Guess the
Goodies contest. Live clowns will
circulate with balloons and
lollipops, and the Temple Youth
Group will operate a make-up
booth.
In addition to the hamen
taschen, hot dogs, hamburgers
and hot pretzels will be
available. Home-baked goods
will be on sale in the bazaar
area, along with photo mugs and
other novelties and a variety of
plants will be available in Queen
Esther’s Enchanted Garden.
The carnival is sponsored by
the Women’s Committee of Tem
ple Sinai. Shelley Hallerman is
chairman of this year’s event,
assisted by Betty Fishner and
Ethel Marx. Eva Stern heads the
Women's Committee.
The public is invited to attend
at no charge.

The Epstein School’s annual
book fair will be held February
27 through March 6 at .Ahavath
Achim Synagogue.
A large selection of all types of
books for adults and children
will be available. There will also
be an up-to-date assortment of
Judaic literature.
Hours are Monday-Thursday
10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-
noon; Wednesday and Thursday
evenings, 7:80-9:30 p.m.; Sun
days, 10 a.m.-l p.m.
All profits will benefit the
library fund. The library is
available to the entire communi

As winter continues, so do ac
tivities of Atlanta Council of
B’nai B’rith Youth Organization
(BBYO). In addition to regular
chapter meetings and functions,
basketball teams will jockey for
positions in the playoffs.
Presently, #357 AZA is in first
place in the senior league, while
L’Chaim BBG and Renanim
BBG are tied for BBG first
place. Ruach BBG and SOJ AZA
hold the top positions in the
junior league.
Atlanta BBYO-AJCC’s 24-
hour Dance-a-Thon for Muscular
Dystrophy held February 19-20
at the Center raised a total of
365&.
About 60 out of 100 dancers
were left on the floor at the end
of the 24 hours.
Atlanta Council’s annual
dance is planned for March 12. A
band called “Dasher” will be
featured. Debbie Levine and
Devid Cooper have been selected
aa assistant coordinators for the

covered dish supper and election
of officers at 6:30 p.m. Monday,

will be given Friday, Mar. 4, at 5
p.m. by Mike Gettinger, ex
ecutive director, Atlanta Jewish
Welfare Federation.
A purim feast will be held Fri
day at 6 p.m. Admission fee is
$3.00 for Hillei members, $5.00
for non-members. Shabbat ser-
vies follow at 8 p.m.
