The Plot to Destroy Israel
By l L Kenan
A new fact-filled book by
veteran correspondent Alvin
Roeenfeld demolishes the myth
that ‘'moderate” Arab leaders
are ready for peace with Israel.
The title, "The Plot tr^Destroy
Israel — the Road to Armaged
don," reflects Rosenfeld’s
terrifying analysis of the real in
tentions of Sadat and his fellow
Arab leaders whose pacifistic
pronouncements are aimed at
seducing American officials and
the media into blaming Israel
for the stalemate.
The book summarizes the ac
tion, past and planned, designed
to vase Israel from the map.
The author assures us that all
the facts have been available to
every intelligence agency and

“much of it ia in shocking
variance with the things we are
being told by our own leaders
and the things we accept as
truth in news reports.”
A competent and seasoned
foreign correspondent and
diplomatic analyst, Rosenfeld
has worked in Washington and
other foreign capitals covering
many crises for INS, UPI, the
New York Post, NBC and the
Washington Post.
He details, with a minimum of
rhetoric and passion, the Arab
master plan to erode Israel and
cause her to wither away; the
manipulation of the UN to indict
Israel as racist; the boycott,
blockade, blacklist and
blackmail, the financial subver
sion and outright bribery; the
enormous arsenals, the use of
terror, the siege of the campus,
the genocidal war in Lebanon,
the new technique of
“moderation", the current
strategy to settle for a West
Bank ministate to serve as a
base for the final round.
When Nasser and Hussein
suffered defeat in 1967, they in
vented the Big Lie, that U. S.
pilots had intervened on Israel’s
side. Roeenfeld quote* extensive
ly from a Sadat broadcast over
Radio Cairo on Oct. 29, 1975,
casting the United States as the
scapegoat of his final reverse*
forcing a cease-fire. Sadat said:
"The United States began to
enter the battle through an air
brigade. They set up quickly.
The Americans began to send
aircraft and pilots and tanks
with their crews. All this landed
at El-Ariah airfield and was
moved immediately to the
battlefield. From Odt. 17, I was
fighting against the United
States and U.S. arms and
equipment”
Rosenfeld scores Sadat: “At no
time . . . did the United States
ever intervene militarily in the
conflict. There were no
American pilots, no American
tank crews, no U. S. troops in the
field. There was no U. S. base on
Egyptian territory, and the U. S.
airlift to Israel did not use El-
Arish Airport as its staging
grounds.”
The gigantic Galaxies from
the United States carried
material which totalled one-
tenth the tonnage the Kremiin
rushed to the Arabs. Hiey land
ed at Ben Gurion Airport.
Rosenfeld charges that Sadat
libelled the United States again
and again.
I have always tried to be an
optimist about Israel’s future,
because Israel has had in
creasing support from the
American people and govern
ment But Rosenfeld insists that
U. S. policymakers have been
misled. For the harsh reality is
that Arab leaders believe they
can overwhelm Israel by eroding
U. S. support Rosenfeld’s book
deserves a wide audience.

Business booms
for Nazi gear
NEW YORK, (JTA) - The
shooting rampage by Nazi-
enthusiast Frederick W. Cowan
in New Rochelle February 14 has
focussed attention on a booming
business — the sale of Nazi
memorabilia.
Cowan, a moving van com
pany employe who shot five per
sons to death before taking his
own life, had a large collection of
Nazi helmets, badges, medals,
swastika arm bands and daggers
in addition to an arsenal of dead
ly weapons in his attic. He also
had photographs of Hitler,
Himmler and other Nazis and a
collection of racist literature and
recordings.
But dealers in the multi
million dollar Nazi artifacts
market insist that the vast ma
jority of their customers are not
"Nazi kooks.” They say that the
purchasers of these items range
from pre-adolescent boys to
military historians and other
scholars of the Nazi era. Many
are legitimate collectors.
Nazi items are regularly
advertised in gun and sporting
magazines.
Many of the items were
bought here by World War II
GIs. Others are “authentic”
replicas of Nazi items and
weapons.
According to reports, there is
also a large business in Nazi por
no books.
