Jerusalem Hebrew Academy art classes of grades four through seven are currently creating a mosaic in commemoration of the reunification of Jerusalem after the Six Day War. The students have done research of various aspects of the city, the shapes of the buildings, the quality of the stone, and the feeling of the peo ple. Aft instructor Claire Kalish is directing the project. The panel is four feet by eight feet and displays sites of the city which the children feel are par ticularly important to Jews. The" buildings were transferred in chalk to the panel and the first tile was put on with wall mastic. Each day more tiles are added, and before the children’s eyes, Jerusalem is coming to life. Hebrew Academy students (1 to r) Adam Appel, Debra Goldberg, art instructor Claire Kalish; Alison Glusman, Ellen Zaglin, Leslie Zinn, Tracy Nadler, Radii Rosa and Jackie Jove’ work on mosaic for 10th anniversary of reunified Jerusalem. and many more of your favorite lithographs, silkscreens, etchings, and pastel's. flit from Atlanta's newest and finest art buying service. Prison seder is moving experience for visitors by Marlin S. Klein On Thursday evening, Apr. 7, the congregation of Temple Jaakov, located in the Federal Penitentiary, held its annual Seder. In addition to the membership of fifty, guests from the Bureau of Jewish Education and the Atlanta Lodge of B’nai B’rith were pre sent. The service was conducted by Rabbi Marc Wilson. Mrs. Howard Peck lit the traditional candles. There were many highlights to the evening. As a visitor I was impressed by the way the con gregants participated in the Ser vice, which covered the entire Haggadah. Judaism is a serious subject to the membership of Temple Jaakov and their pray ing and singing clearly reflected their devotion to their religion. Also impressive was the meal itself and the spirit of coopera tion among the men. Everything was strictly kosher and cooked in an appetising way. There were chores to be done and from dishwashing to waiting on tables, everyone pitched in to in sure that the dinner would be a success. The struggle to establish Tem ple Jaakov has been a long and bitter one, but with a happy en ding on April 7th. We of the Atlanta community who have been active in this project are pleased at the outcome. But in the final analysis it was the con gregants who did it and to them we all offer a hearty "masel tov.” We look forward to celebrating the Passover Seder once again next year at Temple Jaakov. So here is a Passover recipe that will bring compliments at other times of the year as well. It is a time- honored recipe, having come from my husband’s grand mother. 4 matzos, crumbled 'A stick margarine (melted) 4 eggs 1 large onion dash of salt Soak matzos in hot water until soggy.
