"Golda" to open
The opening date of “Golda,”
the musical about the life of
Golda Meir, is scheduled for
Broadway in November. The
New York Times, which
featured a report on the musical,
related that when Ann Bancroft,
who will be its star, visited
Israel to get acquainted with the
former Prime Minister so she
could do a better representation
of her, she slept in Golda’s bed,
who vacated it and went to sleep
over at her son’s house. The prin
cipal reason Golda consented to
have the musical done was
because of the public relations
aspect for Israel.
