Better Infant Births
“It’s A Family Affair” is the
theme of the newest project by
Better Infant Births, the volunteer
health education arm of the March
of Dimes, in their annual May
observance of Healthy Baby
Month. The special health carnival
is slated for May 10-13 at South
DeKalb Mall
The essence of the fair is
prenatal care—where to get it and
why it is important in the
prevention of birth defects. The
fair will feature information on the
role of the father in the pregnancy
and childbirth experience,
parenting, nutrition, genetic
counseling, teenage pregnancy and
child health education.
The project is administered by
BIB member, Childbirth
Education Association.
Other members of the Better
Infant Births coalition include: the
Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of
Catholic Women, B’nai B’rith
Women, the J.C. Singles, the
Mack Frankel Ladies Auxiliary of
the Jewish War Veterans, the
National Council of Jewish
Women, the Service Guild, and
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.

a unique culinary dimension to
Piedmont Park through the
school’s fund-raising project.
In honor of Israel’s thirtieth

The Closing Spring Luncheon

Jacob will host the first annual
Southern Region Regional
Convention of the Junior National
Conference of Synagogue Youth
Friday, May 5 through Sunday,
May 7, at Beth Jacob Synagogue.
Pre-teens between the ages of 9
and 12 will converge for a weekend
of activities, educational sessions,
and social interaction. A formal
banquet is scheduled for Saturday
night. May 6, in which participants
throughout the region will be
awarded for their efforts.
Participants from Memphis,
Nashville, Savannah and other
cities in the south will be
represented at the gala event.
