JWV dedicates chapel flag
The “Chapel of All Faiths" at
the Veterans Administration
Hospital in Atlanta now
displays a flag symbolizing the
Jewish faith. The flag has a blue
background with a white star of
David in the middle.
Chaplain Homer E. McElyea
instigated the search for the
flag. Invited to participate in
the dedication were members of
the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Mack Frankel Jewish War
Veterans, Post No. 112, Rose
Steine, president, and Post
Commander Carrol Citren
baum.
Cobb NCJW plans
cooking demonstration
Cobb Branch of National
Council of Jewish Women will
hold a general membership
meeting at 8 p.m., Monday, Feb.
12, at the home of Dinah
Grollman, S2S2 Willow Point
Parkway.
The program will include a
cooking lesson by Sue Epstein,
staff cooking instructor for the
Atlanta Jewish Community
Center and private caterer. She
will demonstrate hors d’ oeuvres.
Perimeter ORT holds
honor roll dinner
Perimeter Chapter of Women’s
American ORT will hold its honor
roll dinner at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb.
13, at the home of Beverly

JNF installs mezzuzah
at new office
The Jewish National Flint} will
have its regular meeting at 7:30
p.m!, Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the
new offices, 3 Piedmont Center.
Prior to the session, there will be
a Chanukas Habavis with
installation of a Mezzuzah on the
doorpost and appropriate prayers
for this mitzva.
All board members are urged to

Temple Sisterhood has
magic and music donor
The Temple Sisterhood will
sponsor its 32nd annual donor
affair, “Magical, Musical
Moments,” on Sunday evening,
Feb. 25, at the Temple.
Featured guests will be: Jerry
Farber, pianist; Dan Garrett,
entertainer and magician; Deedi
Henson, harpist; and the Temple's
Sisterhood Singers.
The donor affair will begin at
6:30 p.m. with a continental seated
dinner, catered by Cross Roads
Restaurant. There will be
entertainment throughout the
evening.

cooking lesson
Shalom Chapter, B’nai B'rith

Archaeologist speaks at Hillel
Prof. Ephraim Stem of the
Hebrew University in Jerusalem
will be guest speaker at the
Shabbat Table Talk at the Hillel
House, at 9 p.m., Friday, Feb 9.
Dr. Stern is a professor of
archaeology at the Hebrew
University. Recently he directed
the excavations at Tell Mevorakh,
on the coastal plain, and is now
planting a new excavation at Dor,
south of Haifa. Dr. Stern is
currently the editor of “The
Encyclopedia of Archaeological
Excavations in the Holy Land"
(English edition). He is also the
editor of “Qadmoniot" (Anti
quities), published quarterly by the
Israel Exploration Society. The
English version of his book “The
Material Culture of the Persian
Period” is now in print.
Dr. Stem will discuss certain
aspects of his excavations and will
talk about programs available at
the Hebrew University for
American students.
