to Federation divisions

Dr. Rita Hauser will visit
Atlanta on Wednesday, Feb. 21,
for two special events in behalf of
the Atlanta Jewish Federation. Dr.
Hauser, a prominent attorney in
international law, is a member of
a prestigious New York law firm.
She served on the U.N.
Commission on Human Rights
and as a member of the U.S.
Delegation to the 24th U.N.
General Assembly.
The groups Mrs. Hauser will
address are the Pace .Setters
Division, $2,500 minimum in the
men’s campaign, and Summit,
Medallion and Sentinel divisions,
women who contribute a
minimum of $ 1,500 to the women's
division. These groups represent
significant contributions to the
total campaign, and their pledges
do, in fact, “set the pace” for the

on UJA mission
Rabbi Marc Wilson is one of 25
American rabbis presently in
Israel on the 1979 Rabbinic
Cabinet Community Leadership
Mission sponsored by the United
Jewish Appeal.
The purpose of the mission is to
increase leadership involvement of
the rabbinic community in their
own local campaigns and an
unusual itinerary has been planned
including visits to Gaza and the
Rafiah Salient, the Golan and
Project Renewal sites. The group
will meet with top Israeli political
and academic leaders and will also
meet with recent Russian olim
Rabbi Wilson presently serves
as chairman of the Atlanta
Rabbinical Association. He came
to Atlanta in 1975 to serve
Congregation Shearith Israel as its
rabbi and education director. He is
a member of the executive
committee of the Mayor’s
Religious Advisory Committee
and Task Force on Racism. He is a
prolific author and effective public
speaker.
Upon his return, Rabbi
Wilson will be speaking
extensively in the community to
help interpret the needs of Israel
based upon his first-hand
participation as a member of this
distinguished mission.

schedule allowed her to accept
Atlanta’s invitation. She is
considered one of the nation’s
experts on Middle Eastern affairs,
and, in addition, has recently
returned from a trip to South
Africa where she had an
opportunity to meet with both
political leader^ and the
representatives of the South
African Jewish community. Her
message should have great
meaning for all those who are
privileged to hear her.”
Co-chairing the Pace Setters
Division in the men's campaign are
Burton Gold and Mark
Lichtenstein. They are assisted by
Max Rittenbaum, Harvey
Jacobson, J. Joseph Cohen, Louis
Taratoot, Martin Isenberg, Sylvan
Makover, Gordon Sugarman, and
Clyde Rod bell.
The men’s event will be a dinner
at the Colony Square Hotel at 6:30
p.m., Feb. 21.
Heading up the women’s
division activities are Harriet
Zimmerman, upper division
coordinator, and Helen Cohen and
Ruth Rauzin, co-chairwomen of
the Sentinel division; Thelma
Rodbell, Medallion; and Phyllis
Freedman, Summit. The women’s
event will be a brunch at the home
of Ruth Rauzin at 11 a.m., Feb. 21.
