SinsleScene
by Faith Powell
I can remember when someone
10 years younger than I, couldn’t
even talk. Now I find out that these
same kids are dating. And what’s
more, they are going out more
often than I am. What happened?
Am I (I hate to think about it) over
the hill? Am I a spinster yet? Listen
to me, are all the good husbands
taken? 1 shudder as I imagine my
wedding announcement (maybe in
this very paper): Faith Powell got
married. Finally.
If this sounds like a familiar
train of thought, you are getting
carried away with yourself. There
is no deadline for marriage. And
no age limit.
Whenever I get the “always a
bridesmaid and never a bride”
anxieties, I ask myself a few
questions.
Am 1 worried for myself or am I
worried about what other people
think? Would 1 really want to be
married right now? Am I at all
ready?
That is the time I smile and pick
up the paper to see what's going on
with singles in Atlanta. Let's see
now...
