Beth Shalom
makes decision
On Sunday, Jan. 7, Congrega
tion Beth Shalom held a
congregational meeting to poll
their preference as to the direction
and labeling of the synagogue. The
results Of the poll showed a clear
cut majority expressing their
preference of Liberal-Traditional.
Following a vote by the board of
trustees. Congregation Beth
Shalom has adopted the term
Liberal-Traditional as the official
designation of the synagogue.
According to Rabbi Donald
Peterman, Congregation Beth
Shalom's spiritual leader,
“Liberal-Traditional describes a
position on the cusp of Reform
and Conservative Judiasm. Such a
move away from the typical
affiliation is a very positive Jewish
statement and very reflective of the
mood of the congregation.”

Congregation Beth Shalom

SI $7.
