Among the 38 students at
Riverwood High School who were
recently inducted into the National
Honor Society were Andy Brown,
Brooke Frankel, Sue Guthman
and Blake Moret. These juniors
and seniors were chosen by
academic and achievement and
participation in extra-curricular
activities.

The 1979 Louis Kraft Award for
outstanding achievement in the
Jewish Community Center field
has been awarded to Jen Feldman.
AJCC director of adult services
and program director of Camp
Barney Medintz. The award is
given each year to the young man
or woman of exceptional promise
professionally employed with the
Jewish communities in the U.S.,
Canada, Europe and Israel
Ms Feldman was selected from
over 100 nominees submitted to
the awards committee as this year’s
recipient. The award includes a
grant to defray the costs in whole
or in part of participation in a
significant Jewish educational
program, institute or seminar in
Israel or elsewhere.
The purpose of such an
educational experience is to enrich
the award winner's Jewish
background and thereby enhance
the worker's professional
competence in the service of the
Jewish community.

was the keynote speaker and
installing officer at Savannah’s
Senior Hadassah installation
luncheon recently.
The roster of officers for 1979-80

Atlantans Pat Pugrant and
Rabbi Winokur of the Temple
have written a special recognition
award program for Girl Scouts of
the Jewish faith. The award for
Brownies and Juniors is Lehavah,
meaning little flarqc. Cadettes and
Senior Girl Scouts will have the
Menorah Award. The Ora Award
is for adults who have made special
contributions to Jewish Girl
Scouting.
The first girls in the United
States to receive this award were
Jennifer Miller, Debby Pugrant,
Leah Sugarman, Maxine Bower.

Keren Schaffer and Lori Brill,

Eizenstat for Passover seder at the
Eizenstat residence. Eizenstat is
Carter’s assistant for domestic
affairs.
Two years ago, the Carters
attended the seder at the home of
his counselor Robert Lipshutz.
Eizenstat and Lipshutz, old friends
of the Carters, are both from
Atlanta.

Dr. Brmie Grablowsky, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Grablowsky
of Williston, S.C., was recently
awarded tenure and promoted to
the rank of associate professor of
finance at Old Dominion
University, Norfolk, Va.
Dr. Grablowsky is the author of
nearly 30 articles and research
papers on consumer credit,
corporate finance and statistics
and of a recently published
textbook, “Multivariate Data
Analysis," for graduate and
doctoral students
Dr. Grablowsky and his wife,
the former Helene Frank of
Atlanta, have three daughters,
Gayle, Allison and Debra.
Simon Wiesenthal has received
the very rare Dutch award,
“Commander in the Order of
Orange Nassau," from the
Netherlands Ambassador in
Vienna. The award is the highest
that can be given to a non-Dutch
citizen It was presented to
Wiesenthal on the occasion of his
recent 70th birthday.

inducted into Harry Norman,
Realtors' Million Dollar Round
Table. She was honored for her
outstanding sales record this year.

The Lamar-Lafayette
Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution present
ed the Americanism Award
recently to Elijah Wisebram of
Barnsville.
The award, authorized by the
national society of the DAR, is
presented to a naturalized
citizen who has displayed the
requisite qualifications of
trustworthiness, service,
leadership and patriotism
Wisebram, a native of
Russia, emigrated to the United
States in 1911 and has been an
American citizen since 1917.
He was honored by the DAR
for his dedicated community
involvement in both patriotic
and civic organizations.
Elijah Weisbram
Wisebram serves on the
national board of the American
Jewish committee. He is past
commander of his American
Legion Post and past president
of the Barnesville Rotary Club,
and is active in many other
organizations.
