Kamal Abdet-Malek. a 26-year-
old Egyptian student currently
studying at a university in
Montreal, has been accepted for
enrollment by Hebrew University
in Jerusalem This marks the first
time since the establishment of the
State of Israel that an Egyptian
will study at the university

Allen M. Soden of Doraville,
director of marketing for Zep
Manufacturing Co. of Atlanta,
has been selected as one of the
recipients of the Outstanding
Young Men of America
Award for 1979.
This national award is
presented annually on the basis
of outstanding professional
achievement, superior
leadership ability, and
exceptional service to the
community.
Soden serves as vice
chairman of the DeKalb
County Industrial Develop
ment Authority, co-chairman
of the young executive’s
division of the Atlanta Jewish
Federation, and is a member of
the board of directors of the
Atlanta Jewish Community
Center. He is past president of
the University of Florida
Alumni Association
He and his wife, Judy, have
twins, Amie and Jason.

Controversial British actress
Vanessa Redgrave will make her
American television debut as a
Jewish musician and concentra
tion camp victim in the CBS
production of “Playing for Time”
this fall.
Redgrave, a one-time supporter
of Israel, has drawn much criticism
from members of the American
and British Jewish communities
for her support of the Palestine
Liberation Organization

Dr. Lloyd S. Goodman, director
of cardiology at Savannah’s
Memorial Medical Center, has
been elected to a fellowship in the
American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Goodman is a diplomate of
the American College of Internal
Medicine and a diplomate in the
sub-speciality of cardiovascular
diseases of the American College
of Internal Medicine.

Angela Nicole, born July 20.

students and teachers relax
together at American
Mizrachi Women's Kfar Batya
school, near Tel Aviv. School
wide picnics marked the end of
the academic year at the 10
schools maintained throughout

Israeli Consul Levy F.lad,
director of economic activities for
the Southeast for the past five
years, recently returned to Israel
where he plans to enter private
business. During his tenure in
Atlanta, 27 companies from
throughout the South established
manufacturing plants in Israel and
hundreds of American companies
purchased goods from Israel

Margaret Weiller of Atlanta was
a recent guest lecturer representing
the Atlanta Section, National
Council of Jewish Women, at
Georgia State University’s 1979
Summer Series on Aging. She
spoke on “Well-Care Housing in a
Denominatipnal Setting.” Mrs.
Weiller has chaired the
development of the Louis Kahn
Group Home a recently opened
residential facility lor Jewish
senior citizens which provides a
housing alternative for individuals
who are independent or semi
independent

Marcia Caller of Atlanta has
been named advertising sales
manager of the Buck head and
North Fulton editions of Extra,
the Atlanta Journal/Constitu
tion’s weekly community news
section.
A native of Knoxville, Caller
graduated from the University of
Florida with a B.S. degree in
advertising. She has been a
member of the Journal-
Constitution classified advertising
department for the past eight
years.

Mrs. Pioerron de Mondesir
Lisa Ann Freeman, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Freemanof
Atlanta, became the bride of
Andre Pioerron de Mondesir. son
of Mr and Mrs. Paul Pioerron de
Mondesir of Paris, France, on
Aug. 5 at the home of the bride's
parents.
