B’nai B’rith forms unit for elderly
A new B’nai B’rith unit has been
established for residents of the
Jewish Towers and the Jewish
Home by B’nai B’rith and B’nai
B’rith Women.
A steering committee will meet
on Wednesday, Oct. 10, with
Connie Giniger, Southeastern
regional director, B’nai B’rith
Women, and Neil Rosen, assistant
to the executive vice president of
Kesher youth have
Oct. 10 Bar-B-Que
Kesher, Atlanta Hashachar’s
eighth-grade group will open its
1979-80 year with a Bar-B-Que
from 6-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct.
10, at the home of Nancy Berlin,
5310 Mount Vernon Parkway.
Youth from grades three
through college-level will also be
scheduling their activities for the
new year in the coming month.

B’nai B’rith, to help formulate
programs and projects for the new
unit.
Members of the committee
include Cele Miller, Fannie Shur,
Ida Bran, Ben Boksenberg, Abe
Fraidlin, Isadore Niden and
Robert Libowsky. Marcia Ivers,
recreational director at the Home,
and Myron Golub, director at the
Towers, arc assisting in the project.
Yeshiva High holds
annual Sukkah Hop
Yeshiva High School will hold
its annual Sukkah Hop and
progressive dinner starting at 6:30
p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, with
cocktails at the home of Dr. and
Mrs. Nison Schleifer, 1664 Mason
Mill Road, N.E.
Entertainment will include
music by Matzah with a special
performance by the Yeshiva Hi-
Lites. The cost is $15 a couple.

Hawks' coach Hubie Brown, NBA
Coach of the Year in 1978.

Federation women tour
city’s Jewish agencies
The Women’s Division of the
Atlanta Jewish Federation will
hold its first meeting of this year’s
Institute of Awareness Series on
Tuesday, Oct. 9.
The opening program, entitled
“Atlanta: We’ve Come Full
Circle," includes a bus tour
highlighting Atlanta Jewish
agencies and institutions.
Buses leave the Federation at
9:30 a.m. and return at 2:30 p.m.
Lunch is included and baby-sitting
is available by calling Irene
Rothstein at the AJCC, 875-7881.
The series continues with topics
of interest on Oct. 16,23, and 30. A
$5 registration fee covers the entire
four-week program.
