Mrs. Minnie Kantsiper
Mrs. Minnie Kantsiper, 77, of
Savannah, a native of Russia, died
recently.
Graveside service was held in
Bonaventure Cemetery in
Savannah.
Mrs. Kantsiper was a member of
Congregation B’nai B’rith Jacob,
its sisterhood, and Hadassah.
Survivors include two
daughters, Mrs. Miriam Center of
Savannah and Mrs. Sarah Rigelof
Atlanta; sisters, Mrs. Cecille R.
Baker, Mrs. Ethel Rosenzweig and
Mrs. Sophie Black, all of
Savannah; brothers, George and
Harry Richmond, both of
Savannah; four grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
Benjamin Rosen
Benjamin Rosen, 85, of
Decatur, a native of Brooklyn,
died Monday, Oct. 14.
Graveside service was held
Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Greenwood
Cemetery with Rabbi Harry H.
Epstein and Cantor Isaac
Goodfriend officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Gladys Rosen; daughters, Mrs.
Rhoda Wilensky and Mrs. Myra
Kleinman, both of Atlanta; sister,
Mrs. Lena Rosenthal of New
York, and seven grandchildren.
Rose Kimball
Rose (Fein) Kimball, 89, of
Springfield, Mass., mother of
former Massachusetts State Rep.
Philip K. Kimball and the late
Edward J. Kimball, who was
assistant attorney general, died
Thursday, Oct. 4.
Funeral service was held on
Friday, Oct. 5, in Springfield, with
burial in Beth Israel Cemetery,
West Springfield, Mass.

Born in Minsk, Russia, she lived
in Springfield for 75 years and was
a member of Kodimoh Synagogue
and its sisterhood, Mizrachi
Women and the Jewish Nursing
Home of Western Massachusetts.
In addition to her son, she is
survived by three daughters,
Pauline Brooslin and Beverly
Pava, both of Springfield, and
Millie Goss of Atlanta; I3
grandchildren and 13 great
grandchildren. She was the
grandmother of Eva Goss and
Maura Goss Nelson.
Mrs. Leona Lowy
Mrs. Leona Lowy, 90, of
Atlanta died Monday, Oct. 14.
Graveside service was held
Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Greenwood
Cemetery with Rabbi Harry H.
Epstein and Cantor Isaac
Goodfriend officiating.
A native of New York City, Mrs.
Lowy was a member of the Eastern
Star in New York, Women’s
American ORT, and the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center’s
variety club.
Survivors include her daughter,
Mrs. Anita Weisser of Atlanta;
granddaughters Mrs. Carol Fogel
and Mrs. Suzanne Gershon, both
of Atlanta; and two great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Ida Levy
Mrs. Ida Goldstein Levy, 80, of
Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of
Atlanta, died Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Graveside service was held
Thursday, Oct. 18, at Greenwood
Cemetery with Rabbi Morris A.
Skop of Pompano Beach, Fla.,
officiating.
Mrs. Levy was a member of
Temple Shalom in Pompano
Beach.
Survivors include her husband,
Max Levy; sisters, Mrs. Gertrude
Zinkow of Los Angeles and Mrs.
Minnie Weiss of St. Petersburg,
Fla.; brother, Harry Goldstein and
sister-in-law, Fanny Goldstein,
both of Atlanta.
Mrs. Goldie Goldstein
Mrs. Goldie Goldstein, 91, of
Atlanta died Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Graveside service was held
Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Crest
Lawn Memorial Park with Rabbi
Marc Wilson officiating.
Mrs. Goldstein, a native of
Russia, was a retired grocery store
owner.
Survivors include two
daughters, Mrs. Jennie Elson and
Mrs. Fannie Gershon, both of
Atlanta; grandsons, Philip A.
Gershon of Riverdale and Irvin J.
Gershon of Atlanta, and four
great-grandchildren.

Isidor Rooder
Isidor (Irving) Rooder, 82, of
Miami Beach, formerly of
Oceanside, N.Y., died Saturday,
Oct. 6.
Graveside service was held
Monday, Oct. 8, at Beth David
Cemetery in Long Island, N.Y.,
with Rabbi Benjamin Blech
officiating.
Mr. Rooder, a Mason, was a
practicing Guild optician for over
50 years in New York City. After
retirement to Florida, he was a
volunteer worker in pediatrics at
Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami
Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Clarie Rooder; daughter, Mrs.
Phyllis Weiss of New York City
and Mrs. Susan Tauber of Atlanta;
sons, Stewart Rooder of Long
Island, N.Y., Martin Rooder of
Phoenix, Ariz., Roy Michaelson
of Baltimore, Md., and 10
grandchildren.
