Adlcr-Borenstcin
Dr. and Mrs. Donald Held
Adler of Meridian, Miss.,
announce the engagement of their
daughter, Julie Ann, to Herbert
David Borenstein, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Herman Borenstein of
Atlanta.
Miss Adler is the granddaughter
of Mrs. Mary Solomon of
Meridian and the late Nathan
Solomon, and the late Mr. and
Mrs. William S. Adler.
Mr. Borenstein is the grandson
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo
Borenstein and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Shulman.
The bride-elect received her
B.A. degree from Sophie
Newcomb College and her M.Ed.
from Tulanc University, where she
was a member of Alpha Epsilon
Phi sorority. She is a teacher at
Trinity School in Atlanta.
The future bridegroom received
his B.A. degree at the University of
Mbs Adler
Georgia, where he also did
graduate work in journalism. He
was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi
fraternity. He is associated with his
father in the auto parts business.
A December wedding is planned
at Temple Beth Israel in Meridian.
Berry-Schwartz
Lon Jill Schwartz and Jeffrey Lanier of Hilton
Neil Berry of Charleston, S.C.,
were married Oct. 6 at Temple
Mickve Israel in Savannah. Rabbi
Saul Rubin officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Lee
Schwartz and the late Mrs. Elayne
Schwartz. The bridegroom is the
son of Mrs. Sonia Berry and Saul
Berry, both of Charleston, S.C.
Mrs. John McWilliams of
Atlanta was matron of honor and
Miss Jody Rae Schwartz of
Atlanta was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth
Head Island,
S.C., Mis/ Nancy Holtzman of
Greenville, S.C., Miss Sharon
Berry of Charleston, and Mrs.
William Holliday.
Michael Sheldon Berry of
Charleston was best man. Ushers
were Marty Berry, Randy Karesh
and Edward Prystowsky, all of
Charleston, Gary Cahn of New
York City and Adam Schwartz.
After a reception at the
Sheraton Savannah Inn, the
couple left for a wedding trip to
London. England. They will live in
Atlanta.

Susan O’Dowd Green and
Richard Mazo of Savannah were
married Oct. 6 at Bicentennial
Chapel in Augusta.
The bride is the daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Alfred Joseph Norman.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Irwin Mazo of
Savannah.
Mrs. Michael Rucker was
matron of honor and Miss Patricia
Louise Green was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Melinda
Rose Mazo of Aspen, Colo., Miss
Marcy Packer Mazo and Miss
Faye Beth Mazo, both of
Savannah, Miss Nancy Claire
Hardwick of St. Simons Island
and Mrs. James Smith.
Lewis Slotin Mazo of Savannah
was best man. Ushers were Guy
Russell van Buskirk of Atlanta,

Savannah, John Russell Ross of
Athens, Michael Franklin Green,
John Patrick Green and William
Timothy Scharle.
After a reception at the Garden
Center, the couple left for a
wedding trip to the Virgin Islands.
They will live in Augusta.
