JNF reaches ‘Chai’
The symbolism of “chai" in Jewish life was noted in the number of Jewish National Fund projects
announced by Leon Polstein at Sunday evening's gathering of hosts for the forthcoming JNF gala “no
speeches" evening. In the past year, 18 (Chai) projects have been pledged in the State of Georgia Forest in
Galilee. This includes 15 groves, a woodland and two forests. Above, left to right, are Dr. Gilbert
Wildstein, JNF president; Leonard and Sarah Bagen, dinner co-chairpersons; Sharon and Leon Polstein,
host committee chairpersons; Dr. Amnon and Dr. Lynn Gimpel, at whose home Sunday's reception took
place; and Michael Tidhar, JNF' director.
