Meet Michael. He's almost
every mother's dream come true.
He’s handsome, smart, ambitious,
rich and a real gentleman. He’s a
real catch, sort of. Sheila’s crazy
about him but Sheila’s mother is
going crazy. From the looks of
things, a marriage is imminent, so
is her father’s nervous breakdown.
Michael is not Jewish. Sheila is
about to marry outside of her
religion, something that her
family is dead set against.
Sheila is a ficticious person, but
she could be real. There is not one
of us, who has not a) dated a non-
Jew, b) wanted to date a non-Jew,
or c) thought about it.
We are constantly reminded of
the inherent problems of this
interreligious dating and
constantly reminded of what it will
eventually do to our heritage.
Still it is hard to deal with, the
heart is never as logical as the head.

tions call Mark Eisenberg, 636-
