Dubin, executive director of the
Atlanta Jewish Community
Center, sees tremendous potential
in education and human services to
“stimulate wider basic participa
tion in the professional and
academic communities in view of
the rising costs of operating local
agencies.” He plans to encourage
the partnership of all the staffs of
all the beneficiary agencies. Dubin
will seek the involvement of the
large number of new people at the
various universities who are part of
Atlanta's growing academic
community. He is a former faculty
member of Boston University,
Washington University and St.
Louis University. He is also
currently editor of the “Journal of
Jewish Communal Service."
David Dubin
Both the health and legal
communities have undergone
tremendous growth in recent years
which poses a great opportunity as
well as a great challenge to the
Campaign leadership.

The United Jewish Appeal has
announced the appointment of
Geoffrey Thaw as Southeast

Max Rittenbaum, president of
the Atlanta Jewish Federation, of
which the UJA is a major
beneficiary, expressed his pleasure
at Thaw’s appointment, saying, “It
will be of great assistance to the
Federation to have someone of
Mr. Thaw’s ability available here
in the Atlanta community."
Thaw will be involved in
campaign activities of the UJA
throughout the Southeast,
including the states of Alabama,
Mississippi, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Tennessee and
Virginia.
Concurrent with Thaw's
appointment, the UJA has
relocated its Southeast regional
offices to Atlanta. The new address
is 3390 Peachtree Road, Lenox
Towers, Suite 320, Atlanta, 30326.
